ከደን ዘርፍ የሚገኘውን ሀብት ለማሳደግ እየተሰራ መሆኑ ተገለጸ

ኢትዮጵያ ከደን ዘርፍ የምታገኘውን ሀብት ለማሳደግ እየተሰራ መሆኑን የአካባቢ፣ ደንና አየር ንብረት ለውጥ ኮሚሽን አስታወቀ፡፡
በኢትዮጵያ ዘላቂ የደን አያያዝ፣ ልማትና አጠቃቀምን ለማረጋገጥ ህብረተሰቡን አሳታፊ ያደረገ ስራ እየተከናወነ መሆኑንም ኮሚሽኑ ገልጿል።
የአካባቢ፣ ደንና አየር ንብረት ለውጥ ኮሚሽን ኮሚሽነር ፕሮፌሰር ፍቃዱ በየነ በ2013 በጀት ዓመት በመጀመሪያ ሩብ ዓመት የተከናወኑ ሥራዎችን አስመልክቶ በሰጡት ጋዜጣዊ መግለጫ በአካባቢ እና በደን ዘርፎች የተለያዩ ስራዎች መከናወናቸውን ገልጸዋል።
በሕግ ማስከበር እና ክትትል ስራዎች 1 ሺህ 827 የልማት ተቋማትና ፕሮጀክቶች የአካባቢ ሕግን አክብረው እንዲሰሩ ክትትልና ቁጥጥር መደረጉን ያነሱት ኮሚሽነሩ፣ ችግር ባለባቸው ፕሮጀክቶች ላይ የማስተካከያ እርምጃ መወሰዱን ተናግረዋል።
ለአካባቢ ሃብትና ብዝሃ-ህይወት አጠባበቅ እና አጠቃቀም ስራም ትኩረት ተሰጥቶት መከናወኑን ጠቁመዋል።
ባለፈው ክረምት ወቅት ከተተከሉት 5 ቢሊየን ችግኞች 3.5 ቢሊየን የደን ችግኝ መሆኑን ያመለከቱት ፕሮፌሰር ፍቃዱ፣ በቀጣይ አመትም የደን ሽፋንን ለማሳደግ 4 ቢሊየን የደን ችግኞች ለማፍላት የቅድመ ዝግጅት ሥራዎች እየተካሄዱ መሆናቸውን ተናግረዋል፡፡
በተለያዩ የሀገሪቱ አካባቢዎች ለተተከሉ ችግኞችም ህብረተሰቡን ያሳተፈ የክትትል እና የክብካቤ ስራ መሰራቱን ጠቅሰዋል፡፡
ከዘርፉ የሚገኘውን ሀብት ለማሳደግ የተለያዩ ስራዎች እየተሰሩ ናቸው ያሉት ኮሚሽነሩ፣ ከደን ምርት ዝውውር “ሮያሊቲ” ብቻ 37 ሚሊየን ብር ማግኘት ተችሏል ብለዋል፡፡
የባሌ ተራሮችን በዩኒስኮ በቋሚ የአለም ቅርስነት ለማስመዝገብ ሰነድ መዘጋጀቱ የተገለጸ ሲሆን፣ የደኖችን ቃጠሎ ለመከላከል የስትራቴጂክ እቅድ መዘጋጀቱ ተጠቁሟል፡፡

In its ambitious Greenhouse Gas emissions target submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) back in 2015, Ethiopia has pledged to cut its emission by 255 MtCO2eq by 2030.
It is in the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change back in 2015 that Parties adopted the Paris climate Agreement.
The Paris Climate Agreement is anticipated to hold the global average temperature to well below 20C pre-industrial revolution level and to continue until it is reduced to 1.50C.
To meet this global ambicious target, member countries did and are expected to submit their ambicious targets through their Nationally Determined Contribution to cut emmissions. However, planning alone don’t matter to the achievement of the target. But also measuring, reporting and verifying of the actual performance data as per the IPCC guideline is crucial. In doing so, one can determin the progress towards the implementation of both the convention and the Paris climate agreement.
Speaking up at the opening event to a technical capacity building training of experts working on MRV at line ministries, his excellency Mr. Negusu Lema, Director General to Climate Change and Bio diversity division at the Ethiopian Environment, Forest and Climate Change Commission mentioned that, " MRV helps to understand and track the progress of carbon emission with individual or collective commitments or pledges to the global community and enhance accountability in quantified information measured and reported to build confidence. He also extends his remarks saying that "MRV does provide background information on the scope and ambition of national climate responses". For that end said the director-general, the sectoral technical team needs to build its capacity in order to perform their responsibility as per the IPCC 2006 guideline".
Financed and technically supported by the European Commission, the training will continue for the next two days with a focus on different thematic areas and approaches to help the team better examine the science and its applicability.
