Members of the International Criminal Court have voted to remove chief prosecutor Karim Khan over allegations of sexual misconduct. The decision passed with 82 votes after the court’s oversight body found that Khan had committed serious misconduct involving a junior staff member and tried to stop her from pursuing a complaint. Khan denies the allegations, while his lawyers say the process was unfair and unsupported by evidence. His removal comes as the ICC faces growing political pressure, including US sanctions linked to arrest warrants sought for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant.

South Africa says a case filed at the International Criminal Court (ICC) by two Ghanaian citizens over recent attacks on African migrants is "premature" and falls outside the court's jurisdiction. Responding to the complaint, Foreign Affairs Minister Ronald Lamola said South Africa's independent courts are already investigating the violence and are capable of prosecuting those responsible. He argued the attacks were carried out by individuals acting outside the law—not by the state—and pointed to the country's laws against racism, hate speech and discrimination as evidence that there are sufficient legal avenues to deliver justice. Lamola said international action should only be considered after South Africa's domestic legal processes have run their course.
