What an inspiring weekend! The International Kokoomus of Espoo board members: Antti, Marcel, Rahul, and Sami, attended the party conference to represent our vibrant, international community and help shape the future direction of Kokoomus.

Key Highlights & Leadership Elections:

Party Chair: Petteri Orpo was re-elected to continue his strong leadership as Chairman.
Party Council Chair: Congratulations to Arto Satonen, who was voted in to lead the party council!
Vice Chairs: A huge congratulations to our newly elected Vice Chairs: 1st Karoliina Partanen - sinun asiasi ajaja, 2nd Antti Häkkänen, and 3rd Sari Multala.

With this strong team, our party is ready to keep building a freer, more prosperous Finland where everyone can succeed. 💙 Vapaus onnistua! 🌟

A Sweet Ending to a Great Weekend ☕️

No road trip is complete without a traditional Finnish pitstop! On our way back home to Espoo, we just had to stop by Karoliinan Kahvimylly bakery-conditory for some well-deserved coffee and pastries.

🌍⚖️ International Kokoomus of Espoo attended: "Sortuuko oikeusvaltio?" (Is the Rule of Law Collapsing?)

On Thursday, May 21st, our members gathered for an incredibly insightful and timely evening hosted by Espoon Kokoomusnaiset and Tapiolan Kokoomus.

We had the privilege of hearing from MPs Karoliina Partanen and Pihla Keto-Huovinen as they tackled a critical theme: The bottlenecks in our judicial system and the realization of citizens' legal protection.

During the discussion, Pihla Keto-Huovinen shared a profound perspective on short-term prison sentences, specifically highlighting convictions with a duration of just 3 months. She emphasized her strong desire to utilize multi-professional cooperation to break the cycle—ensuring these individuals get the holistic support they need rather than just returning to prison for another 3 months.

Other key takeaways from the evening included:
The backlog challenge: How delays in court proceedings affect everyday citizens and businesses.

Securing legal protection: Ensuring that justice is not just available on paper, but efficient and accessible in practice.

🌍 International Kokoomus of Espoo at Folklore 2026! 🌍

We were delighted to participate in the Folklore 2026 – Treasures of India cultural festival at the Espoo Cultural Centre.

The event was a beautiful showcase of music, dance, art, and culinary traditions, fostering a deeper connection between Finnish and Indian cultures. For us, supporting events that champion international cooperation, integration, and community engagement in Espoo is a top priority.
