I’m calling on the United Democratic Party, civil society organisations and Human rights groups to step forward and demand a full investigation from the government into the recorded audio involving Seedy Njie.

What’s in that audio is deeply troubling. It points to interference in public service and raises serious concerns about people being targeted because of their views and ethnicity. Bringing up whether someone is Mandinka in that kind of context is not something any country that values peace should take lightly.

This is bigger than party politics. It’s about protecting the country from division and making sure no one in public office feels they can decide people’s fate based on loyalty or background.
We call on the government and President Adama Barrow to immediately launch an independent investigation, make the findings public, and take clear action if these claims are proven.
The country’s peace and stability should never be left at the mercy of unchecked power.

Lang Sonko’s Daughter bought the Hajj Tickets not president Adama Barrow as reported by Bakary Jaiteh on WhatsApp audio messages circulating on social media platforms.

Lang K Sonko refuted the false story on social media platforms that president Adama Barrow bought his ticket to perform Hajj in 2026. According to WhatsApp audio messages reported by Bakary Jaiteh that president Adama Barrow bought Hajj tickets for lang sonko without any evidence is just unfortunate and he is misleading the general public.

Mr Jaiteh is a senior citizen, uncle Lang K sonko is equally a senior citizen and also an advocate for Democracy, decency, sincerity and rule of law in the Gambia, he deserves respect, dignity, and people should stop sharing false information against him. People Should also stop insulting him on social media platforms without any reason.

Mr jaiteh is putting president Adama Barrow in a funny suitation that, president Adama Barrow bought Sonko’s ticket to perform Hajj, without evidence.

We challenge mr jaiteh to provide evidence, ticket receipt that president Adama Barrow bought for Lang K sonko to perform Hajj.

President Barrow should be very careful of his close associates, because as we can see recently that his close associates are putting him in critical positions just because of politics.

Uncle Bakary Jaiteh should understand that reporting false information without evidence is not a good thing do as a senior citizen.

Uncle Lang Sonko is going to Mecca thanks to her Daughter and her husband not president Adama Barrow, we need to clarify issues before sharing it on social media platforms.

Its left with mr jaiteh to come with evidence that president Adama Barrow bought the ticket.

Note. I personally have conversations with Uncle Lang K sonko on the issue reported by on social media, and I listened to the audio messages of mr jaiteh.

Good morning, Gambia!

Yesterday, we posted about Ismaila Fadera, the newly elected president of the University of The Gambia Students’ Union. The post attracted one of the biggest reactions we have seen on our page in recent times. We did not see a single negative comment about him. Instead, many rubbished us for joking about Seedy Njie closing the university.

Ismaila is a well-known youth leader in the UDP, and everyone knows that. Sometimes, he uses his page to defend and promote his party and its leadership.

But despite his active role in partisan politics, students at the university still elected him as their president. Do you know why? Because Ismaila differs from many young people involved in politics. He demonstrates maturity, discipline, and emotional intelligence.

He respects others and rarely loses his temper when confronted with political views different from his own. His political engagements are generally civil, without name-calling, hostility, or threatening rhetoric.

Do you think students would have voted for him if he had engaged in toxic politics? Certainly not. They would instead have mobilised to reject him at the ballot box.

Those of you here on social media who support political parties should learn from Ismaila’s example. It is natural to feel anger or frustration when passionate about an issue. But that anger should never be allowed to manifest in unhealthy ways or cross the line into intimidation, destructive behaviour, or personal attacks.

We wish Ismaila a successful tenure as president of the UTG Students’ Union. If he doesn’t have a girlfriend at the university, he should try to get one. The students want to have a First Lady.
