At the beginning of this month, our 90 Day Finns had a chance to experience Nuuksio!
Nuuksio is one of many Finnish National Parks, and is easily accessible by public transportation within the metropolitan area of Helsinki! With beautiful views of the most incredible rusty autumn, they had a guide through the park, and also a chance to pick berries and mushrooms! Truly a Finn Experience!🍂.

This past Sunday our 90 Day Finns had a chance to experience the beautiful area of Korkeasaari, where they visited the Zoo! Where they where able to learn more about the handling of the animals, and see some incredible ones too. The Zoo is at easy reach from the center by public transportation, don't miss the chance to visit it, when you are around!

Leaving from central Helsinki from Kompassitori square, we went to the island by boat with an incredible electric boat from Callboats (). Last week our 90 Day Finns had a unique experience at in Helsinki. Not just it was filled with music but also the special presence of Helsinki's mayor Juhana Vartiainen.
.
The 90 Day Finns got the chance to familiarise themselves with traditional Finnish music, e.g. by playing the traditional instrument kantele. They also learned some Finnish by singing. These exercises were led by Elisa Seppänen and Tero Pajunen, teachers from the Sibelius Academy.
.
Music lovers will recognize the name Jean Sibelius – he was close friends with the founder of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Robert Kajanus, and almost all of his compositions were premiered by the orchestra. As a curiosity, the orchestra was founded in 1882.
.
Don't miss the chance to visit, or attend a gig at Musiikkitalo! It is located right next to Central Library Oodi, in central Helsinki, and within walking distance from the Central Railway Station.

Our 90 Day Finns had a lot fun, and learned a lot today with our visit to VTT Bioruukki Pilot Center in Espoo today! We had 3 speakers, Mika Härkönen Professor of Practice, Industrial Chemistry and Technology Infrastructures at VTT, who also gave us a great tour!
Start-up presentation: Infinited Fiber Company ; Jari Ekblad, Chief Supply Chain Officer and Lotta Partanen Manager Incubation and Acceleration. Thank you all for having us and sharing so much! It was a day to remember.

Yesterday we meet with Ville Sinisalo from Reaktor and Kristine Alanko from Työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö - Virallinen to discuss the sustainable use of AI technology.

Fun fact: three of our 90 Day Finns have taken Reaktor's AI Fundamentals for decision makers online course. This customised training helps you:

✓ Understand the Artificial Intelligence field
✓ Apply AI and the associated terminology correctly
✓ Learn techniques for assessing how AI can be utilised in your industry

Last Friday we introduced our participants to the traditions in Finland! The event was hosted by our colleague Johanna and one of our guests, Pia! ✨

Our participants for this year’s programme learned few traditional songs used in the crayfish parties and enjoyed great discussions with our guests from the Finnish business ecosystem - Anu-Elina Hintsa, Ilkka Lakaniemi, Mikko Kiesiläinen, Liisa Aström and Youssef Zad!

Today’s visit to Helsinki Think Corner was fantastic! The CEO, Rosa Salmivuori, started the conversation by explaining that the space is free of charge as a co-working space, in the heart of Helsinki. Their core focus is to bring people together and help those who need to find a workspace and Connect ideas to bring those to fruition.

They create speaker and creator events with a focus on entrepreneurs who want to know more, connect and evolve their businesses. Since 2013 they have organized over 500+ events, and gathered over 220k visitors!

We also learned from Santtu Von Bruun, from the University of Helsinki, that Helsinki city is the 8th biggest startup hub in the world. Ahead of many bigger cities, we are proud to be so active in that business eco-system too.

Besides Helsinki Think Company, the University supports another four branches of new businesses. With an overall focus on sustainable solutions, entrepreneurship, and corporate partnerships.

The health sector is their biggest working sector, and the food industry has been a new great bigger sector for investment, support, and market potential in the past 4 years too, within the University and its related startup hubs.

We were also able to hear Laura Ruotsalainen explaining some aspects of sustainable points, for example, eco-friendly traffic solutions within the city.

How many future projects, like the electrification of transport would affect life and the sustainability of the healthy environment of Helsinki city life in the long run, and its impacts.

The visit with Op bank was a major success! Our 90 Day Finns had an inside view of how the biggest corporate bank in Finland works. The hosts Jussi Syrjänen, and Altti Väre had a very informative conversation with us and clarified many important points during the visit. Plus the headquarters were outstandingly designed as well.
