🇫🇮 The atmosphere of the Defense Forces Flag Day Eve straight from Kuopio! Parade troops are ready for tomorrow's celebration day. Today the troops practiced passing through and marching by. The equipment participating in the motor march has moved to the beach of Kallavesi.
The theme of the parade is "Security of the North - Air Defense 100 years". Today's program offers a wide variety of things to see and experience for the whole family.
🎖️ Highlights of the program:
• 8 o'clock Flag raising at the harbor square
• From 9 am to 4 pm Furniture show at the harbor market
• At 10.45-11.20 a side program at Väinölänniemi stadium, starts with a Hornet presentation flight.
• 12 o'clock parade viewing at Väinölänniemi stadium
• At 13.15, the bypass march on Satamakatu, starts with an Air Force flyover
• At 14.30 Emergency services rescue performance in the harbor pool
• 5:50 pm Artistic Flight Department Midnight Hawks show flight
• From 18 to 21:30 MILjazz concert at the harbor square

The Finnish Defence Forces' Flag Day on 4 June in Kuopio features events from morning until evening.
The flight activities included in the programme will cause noise, especially in the city centre and harbour area of Kuopio.
Summary of flight activities:
10:45 Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornet demonstration flight, off the harbour
11:15 Finnish Army NH90 transport helicopter hovering flight, harbour side of Väinölänniemi Stadium
13:15 The parade on Satamakatu begins with a flypast. Allied aircraft will also participate.
14:15 Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornet demonstration flight, off the harbour
17:50–18:00 Midnight Hawks aerobatic display team flight, off the harbor
The flypast will start with four Finnish F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets from the Karelia Air Wing. They will be followed by aircraft from Nordic allied nations: two Royal Norwegian Air Force F-35A Lightning II fighter jets and two Swedish Air Force JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets. The final formation of the flypast will consist of four Finnish Hawk jet trainers from the Air Force Academy. The Finnish Army's MD500 helicopters and NH90 transport helicopters will also be seen during the parade.
Finnish Air Force will also conduct flypasts at Kalevankangas Cemetery, Tampere, and at the Rovaniemi garrison on 4 June 2025.
