Please Note:
Isokari features uneven rocky terrain and natural walking paths. The walk from the harbour to the lighthouse is approximately 1 km (0.6 miles) each way. Unfortunately, the island is not accessible by wheelchair or walker. For babies and toddlers, we recommend bringing a baby carrier.
Your Cruise Experience:
The cruise departs at 10:30 from Uusikaupunki Guest Harbour (Pakkahuoneenkuja 2), located on the town's charming waterfront in the heart of Uusikaupunki. As the journey begins, you'll pass beautiful marinas before heading out towards the open sea.
The voyage is operated by the passenger vessel M/S Kerttu. The vessel offers comfortable, heated indoor lounges, a café with licensed beverage service, and a spacious sun deck where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
The journey itself is an unforgettable experience. Along the way you'll admire the beautiful inner archipelago before the vast open waters of the Bothnian Sea unfold before you. Enjoy a freshly brewed coffee with a pastry—or perhaps a refreshing drink—as you take in the views. The crossing takes approximately 1.5 hours.
On Isokari
Upon arrival, you'll join a guided walking tour introducing the island's fascinating history, unique nature, and, of course, its iconic lighthouse.
The lighthouse remains an active aid to navigation, and entry is only possible as part of the guided tour. To reach the lantern room and admire the historic lighthouse lens, visitors climb nearly 180 steps. Even if you choose not to climb, the lighthouse is an impressive sight from the surrounding lighthouse meadow.
After the guided programme you'll still have plenty of free time to:
-Meet and pet the island's sheep
-Take a refreshing swim in the sea
-Enjoy coffee and pastries on the idyllic summer terrace
-Explore the island's rich birdlife and nature
