Follow the signs! 🧭🤠🥾

Great news for all St. Olav Waterway pilgrims: the trail has been updated in terms of wayfinding through signpostings all the way up to Galtby (Korpo)!

Our dedicated project worker Leonie recently walked the route from Turku through Kaarina, Pargas, and Nagu to Korpo, checking and refreshing the St. Olav signs and logos along the way. Thanks to her efforts, the trail now offers both quality and quantity when it comes to clear wayfinding.

So lace up your boots and follow the freshly marked path through the archipelago! 💙

It Started With a Walk…
…and turned into a journey that no planning tool could ever predict.

Discover how Leonie’s walk along the St. Olav Waterway became a turning point (spoiler: she came back—and stayed!)

Now part of the St. Olav Waterway team, Leonie is out on the trail - preparing it for the upcoming hiking season, meeting with local partners, and making sure hikers can find their way. As a project worker, she’s helping to maintain and promote a unique route that connects countries, islands, and cultures - from mainland Finland through the archipelago and Åland, all the way to the Swedish coast. Want to follow along?

Great news for our cycling fans 🚴🚴. Cycling St. Olav Waterway is becoming more popular by the year. You can find the route for cyclists as a GPX and map on the website, but what is better than have someone else take care of all the planning for you. Well done Nordic Pilgrim 🙏🙏

After getting great feedback from a pilgrim-on-a-bike last year, we decided to develop our first official bicycle package. Explore the Finnish Archipelago by bike: 10 days from Turku to Mariehamn. No need to bring your own bike. 🚴‍♀️⛴ St Olav Waterway / Pyhän Olavin merireitti

Such an inspiring story! 🤎

Just a couple of years ago, after moving to Finland, Roos from the Netherlands developed severe physical problems that made it impossible for her to walk or even stand on her legs.
Last summer she completed the St Olav Waterway / Pyhän Olavin merireitti.
