International House Riihimäki's service point, Kotola, is moving! But don't worry, we're not going far, just to the other end of Temppelikatu.

🏫 On Tuesday, September 1, we will open our doors at our new location:
Temppelikatu 10 B. You can find us on the third floor.
⏰ On September 1, we will exceptionally be open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
⏰ From September 2 onwards, we will serve you during our regular opening hours, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Join us for the second round of Unseen Connections! In spring 2026 we piloted our first ever spouse programme for international spouses and got some great feedback from the participants. Now we are ready for our second group!😍

This nine‑week peer-support group starts on September 28, 2026 and the sign up sheet is now open here: https://s.zef.fi/e5gwsp43/.

🤔 Who is it for?
The program is for international spouses, living in the Riihimäki region (Riihimäki, Loppi, Hausjärvi or Janakkala), who have moved to Finland for their partner’s work or studies.

🤔 Why should you join?
Moving to a new country can feel exciting but also isolating. Many international spouses arrive with few local contacts and may have trouble finding their own purpose. In the spouse programme, you meet others who have gone through similar experiences — people who “get it.”

The programme will help you
✨ build your own networks.
✨ learn about Finnish everyday life and working culture.
✨ strengthen your language skills.
And it's free!

🤔How does it work?
Over the nine weeks from 28.9. to 30.11. the group will meet twice a week, on Mondays live in Riihimäki and on Wednesdays online for a Finnish lesson. The Monday meetings will have different themes that will help you integrate into the Finnish culture and to get to know your peers. The programme will be held in English and there is space for 20 participants.

Kesän aikana International House Riihimäki palvelee asiakkaita Temppelikadulla seuraavasti:
🌸työllisyysneuvonta jatkuu normaalisti koko kesän maanantaista perjantaihin kello 9.00–15.00.
🌸muu kotoutumisneuvonta ja ohjaus on kesälomalla 13.–24.7.
🌸juhannuksena 19.6. toimipisteemme ja asiakaspalvelumme on kiinni
🌸Olkkari jatkuu Antonin talolla joka toinen perjantai. Seuraava Olkkari on 26.6.
🌸muut ryhmät ja tapahtumat ovat kesätauolla

During the summer, International House Riihimäki operates on Temppelikatu as follows:
🌸Employment services continue normally throughout the summer from Monday to Friday, 9:00–15:00.
🌸Other integration guidance and counselling will be on summer break 13.–24.7.
🌸On Midsummer 19.6., our office and customer service will be closed.
🌸Olkkari continues at Antonin talo every other Friday. The next Olkkari is 26.7.
🌸Other groups and events are on a summer break.

Протягом літа International House Riihimäki обслуговує клієнтів на вулиці Темппелікату таким чином:
🌸Консультування з питань працевлаштування триває у звичайному режимі протягом усього літа з понеділка по п’ятницю з 9:00 до 15:00.
🌸Інші послуги з інтеграції та консультації перебувають на літній перерві з 13 по 24 липня.
🌸На Іванів день, 19 червня, наш офіс та обслуговування клієнтів зачинені.

Tässä he ovat!👏 Riihimäen kaupungin ja Hämeen ammattikorkeakoulun (HAMK) pilottiohjelman harjoittelijat. 10 HAMKin englanninkielisten koulutusohjelmien opiskelijaa, aloitti 11. toukokuuta harjoittelun kaupungin eri toimialoilla. Harjoittelijoiden työtehtävät pohjaavat toimialojen tarpeisiin, jotka on yhdessä muotoiltu toimeksiannoiksi. Orientaatiopäivässä kaupunginjohtaja ja idean isä Jouni Eho kannusti opiskelijoita tarttumaan rohkeasti toimeen, sillä tarkoitus on tehdä aitoa kehitystyötä. Opiskelijat analysoivat palveluja, tekevät havaintoja ja kokoavat niiden pohjalta konkreettisia parannusideoita kaupungille.🕵️

Pilotin tavoitteena on kerätä kokemuksia ja toimintamalleja, joiden avulla harjoitteluohjelma voidaan vakiinnuttaa osaksi kaupungin ja HAMKin yhteistyötä.
