Dingding Cai to defend their doctoral dissertation on 28 August 2026
MSc (Tech) Dingding Cai will defend their doctoral dissertation, Single-View 6D Object Pose Estimation with Deep Learning, at the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences, Tampere University, on 28 August 2026.
The dissertation explores how deep learning can help machines estimate the position and orientation of unfamiliar objects from a single image, advancing computer vision and object pose estimation methods with applications in areas such as robotics and automation.
The opponent will be Assistant Professor Viktor Larsson (Lund University, Sweden), and the custos will be Professor Esa Rahtu (Tampere University).
