π¨ IMPORTANT ALERT TO ALL QOLOQOLI OWNERS & TURAGA NI VANUA IN FIJI π¨
Bula vinaka Vanua o Viti.
This is a serious advisory to all QOLOQOLI owners, Turaga ni Vanua, Mataqali leaders, and resource owners across Fiji.
β οΈ Please DO NOT sign any waiver for your QOLOQOLI or land to any investor or government authority without first securing a proper agreement.
Before signing any waiver:
β
Make sure there is a formal Joint Venture Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or MOA.
β
Make sure the benefits are clearly written and legally documented.
β
Make sure it is not just a one-time payment, but structured annual benefits for the full lease term.
If a lease is 50 years, benefits must flow for 50 years.
If a lease is 99 years, benefits must flow for 99 years.
Do NOT surrender your rights first and negotiate later.
QOLOQOLI owners before proper Commercial Usage Management Agreements are applied. Some are requesting waivers before clear benefit-sharing agreements are in place.
βοΈ Protect your Vanua. Protect your future generations.
Through the Viti Indigenous Tourism Alliance (VITA), we are assisting Vanua across Fiji to:
β Establish proper governance structures
β Register Trust Deeds customised to each Vanua
β Register business arms or cooperative entities
β Draft legally structured MOUs or MOAs
β Secure annual community project funds
β Secure education funds
β Secure sports development funds
β Secure welfare funds
β Ensure employment and business opportunities
β Ensure long-term revenue flows into a Trust account β not one-time payouts
This is about sustainability, not quick money.
Let us prepare your Vanua properly before any waiver is signed.
