Applications are now open for the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme Short-Term Training Course in Good Governance for Pacific scholars to be held in Auckland, New Zealand from 15-26 February 2027.

The Good Governance course aims to enhance Pacific participant knowledge and skills in building inclusive, transparent, and resilient governance systems. The course covers topics including human rights, anti-corruption and accountability, adaptive governance, and digital governance.

𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲

This two-week residential course will be delivered by the University of Auckland’s Public Policy Institute in Auckland, New Zealand from Monday 15 February to 26 February 2027.

The Solar Hybrid Power Project brings sustainable energy solutions to Kadavu communities and marks a major milestone in Fiji’s renewable energy journey.

FIBA in Oceania, together with the FIBA Foundation and New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), is bringing a week-long Basketball For Good Facilitators Workshop to Suva, Fiji.

As part of an expanding multi-year partnership, FIBA in Oceania and MFAT are working together to strengthen National Federations, empower local leaders, and create meaningful youth development opportunities through the power of basketball across the Pacific.

The FIBA Foundation’s Basketball For Good Facilitators Workshop aims to equip facilitators with tools to inspire youth, promote health, and deliver inclusive community programs across Oceania.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force and the Republic of Fiji Navy exemplified the essence of the Duavata Partnership through their collaborative search and rescue operation, which led to the successful recovery of six people aboard an overdue small boat in rough Fijian waters earlier this month.

New Zealand's Deputy High Commissioner to Fiji, Sam Cox was honoured to attend the opening of the Salvation Army’s Alcohol and Drugs Recovery Centre in Suva last week.

Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka official opened the new facility along with Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr. Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu and Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran.

New Zealand is proud to be supporting efforts by Fiji and the Salvation Army to address the social and health impacts of drug harm.

The Foreign Ministers of Fiji and New Zealand have signed a refreshed Duavata Partnership, outlining the relationship’s priorities for the next five years.
