High Commissioner Suneet Mehta was pleased to meet Hon. Manoa Kamikamica DPM, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Industries, Commerce, Business Development & Public Enterprises of Fiji.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways to further deepen the longstanding and multifaceted India–Fiji partnership, with discussions covering Agriculture, Health, Trade, Business and Economic Cooperation, among other areas of mutual interest.

A significant milestone in the India–Kiribati partnership 🇮🇳🤝🇰🇮

The launch of the Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) Project in Tarawa was graced by H.E. Taneti Maamau, President of Kiribati.

High Commissioner of India Suneet Mehta and Hon. Tangariki Reete, Minister for Tourism, Commerce, Industry & Cooperatives, Kiribati spoke about the significance of the project and its positive impact on the livelihoods of the people in Kiribati.

Supported by US$900,000 from the India-UN Development Partnership Fund and implemented by UNDP, India’s assistance will support VCO processing plants in Nonouti and Teraina, alongside training and capacity-building.

The initiative will transform Kiribati’s coconut resources into higher-value products, creating new opportunities for farmers, women’s cooperatives and rural communities. 🌴

The launch brought together Government leaders, UNDP, industry stakeholders and community representatives, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable economic development in Kiribati.

India remains committed to strengthening its partnership with Kiribati through South-South cooperation, locally driven development and initiatives that promote livelihoods, economic opportunity and resilience in the Pacific. 🇮🇳🌏🇰🇮
