Cuban Ambassador, Néstor Torres, held a meeting with Naoero Presidential Special Envoy, Minister Charmaine Scotty, in the framework of dialogue and cooperation activities in the Pacific region.

During the meeting, both officials discussed key areas of common interest on the bilateral agenda, exploring new avenues to strengthen ties of collaboration.

Opening Ceremony of the 55th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders, themed "B.E.L.A.U. - Building Economies: Life. Action. Unity". Hundreds of people gathered at the Palau National Gymnasium for the official opening, which showcased the Pacific’s unity, culture and shared identity through traditional performances and ceremonies.

During the event, the Cuban ambassador, Nestor Torres had the pleasure of greeting Mr. Qian Bo, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government, highlighting mutual support between Cuba and China as well as their enduring brotherhood.

A bilateral meeting was held on the margins of the 55th Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) in Palau between the Cuban Ambassador, Néstor Torres, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Islands, the Hon. Kalani R. Kaneko. During the encounter, both sides looked forward to future reciprocal visits to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. This engagement coincided with the September 28 milestone marking the 11th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
