Hit reality television series Survivor is expected to remain in Fiji for the foreseeable future, with longtime host and executive producer Jeff Probst revealing that the […]

A short tribute to one of Fiji’s longest serving film crew member - Ray Newton.

Ray worked across nearly every major production filmed in Fiji over the years, serving in many departments, most notably Lighting and Grips.

He was a familiar and respected presence on set, dependable, hardworking, and always ready to step in wherever needed.

No job was ever too big or too small for Ray. He approached every production with the same dedication, professionalism, and steady attitude.

He was someone many crew members leaned on, not only for his experience, but for his willingness to help, guide, and mentor those coming through the industry.
Ray was friendly, loyal, and deeply committed to the craft, though certainly not someone to be taken lightly.

His contribution to Fiji’s film industry spans decades and countless productions, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through the many people he worked alongside and mentored.

Film Fiji extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt gratitude to Ray’s family for sharing him with the industry for so many years.

Ray will be sorely missed🕊

From all of us at Film Fiji.

Filmmaker, Blair Robertson, living at Naboutini Serua, has made a short drama/comedy film about Taka and the trials and tribulations of his fictional fishing business at Naboutini village. "Buy one get one free" is the movie's tagline.

Out now on YouTube [https://youtu.be/ZkyEQK-HlzM?si=rThgwLG96ToFdK5U].

Blair completed the Film Fiji Accelerator Producers course a few years back, and since then has made dozens of films of many genres that you can find on his YouTube site 'Fossil Fiji'.

Blair is acting in this one, mainly because the two people he had in mind were unable to perform due to sickness. But that's okay, he says, he was a banker once, so playing a banker isn't too hard.

Blair is making a rugby series this year with Nadroga Rugby Union. This follows a series with Lukia and Lemeki, 'Ratu Na Veli', of which the first 6 episodes are on the Fossil Fiji YouTube site.

Levuka, quietly resting on the island of Ovalau, carries the stories of Fiji’s early days as its first town and former capital. Today, that rich history blends effortlessly with its laid-back coastal beauty where calm waters, colonial buildings, and every corner feels like a step back in time. It’s not just the views that make Levuka special, it’s the feeling you get just being there.
