Got a drone? Get authorized before you fly!

If you’re coming to Fiji from overseas to film and have a drone with you, there are a few things you need to know.

Got your Film Permit from Film Fiji? Great! But remember, your Film Permit does not automatically cover drone operations.

Before you take off:

✅ Declare your drone when you arrive in Fiji
✅ Keep your Film Fiji permit with you
✅ Get the required Drone Authorization from CAAF
✅ Follow Fiji’s drone safety rules and respect restricted areas.

The Film Fiji team was delighted to attend the opening night of the 5th European Film Festival 2026 at Damodar Cinemas in Suva.

It was a fantastic evening celebrating the power of film, culture, and storytelling, with audiences enjoying the opening screening of The Horse and the vibrant atmosphere that brought film lovers together.

Film Fiji is appreciative of initiatives that showcase diverse stories and strengthen Fiji's appreciation for cinema while fostering cultural exchange through film.

The festival continues throughout the week, with FREE screenings open to the public an excellent opportunity to experience outstanding European cinema.

The Film Fiji team attended the screening of Young Productions' compelling short films, Vakadua, a UK–Fiji collaboration by Young Productions, Video Factory, and Ajay Chhabra. And 'An Unofficial Colonial History of the Feejee Islands AKA VITI, at the USP Oceania Arts Centre.

It was an inspiring evening that celebrated local filmmaking, powerful storytelling, and the incredible talent driving Fiji's creative industry. Film Fiji is proud to support and champion filmmakers who continue to share authentic Fijian stories with audiences both locally and internationally.

Congratulations to Young Productions, the cast, crew, and everyone involved in bringing these remarkable films to life. We look forward to seeing even more local stories reach screens around the world.
