MINISTER SAUKURU HANDS OVER YOUTH GRANT TO NADAKUA YOUTH CLUB.
The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Jese Saukuru, earlier this week handed over a two-deck electric oven worth $3,350.00 to the Nadakua Youth Club under the Ministry’s Youth Grant Programme, enabling villagers of Malabe to purchase bread within their own community instead of travelling to Korovou Town.
The grant will further strengthen the club’s income-generating initiatives and empower its members to create sustainable economic opportunities within their community.
Through this assistance, the club will expand its existing canteen operations into a bakery business, enabling members to increase their income, develop entrepreneurial skills, and enhance the long-term sustainability of the youth club.
While handing over the grant, Minister Saukuru congratulated the members of the Nadakua Youth Club for their commitment to improving their livelihoods through productive and innovative projects.
“I encourage all recipients to use these resources wisely, responsibly, and transparently. Manage your projects effectively, work together as a team, and remain committed to achieving your goals. Success requires dedication, discipline, and perseverance,” said Minister Saukuru.
The Minister also urged young people to stay away from drugs and other harmful activities, reminding them that they are the future leaders of Fiji.
“Your future is important, and the future of Fiji depends on you. Make positive choices, remain focused on your ambitions, and become role models within your communities,” he said.
Minister Saukuru further reminded the club members to make the most of the grant assistance provided by the Government.
“We will continue to monitor your project and work alongside you to ensure its success. This grant is an investment in your future, and we expect to see positive outcomes that benefit both the club and the wider community,” Minister Saukuru said.
The Ministry remains committed to supporting youth development initiatives across the country.
