🇫🇴 Celebrate Faroese Flag Day in Tórshavn! 🇫🇴
Join us this Saturday, April 25th, for the annual Flaggdagur celebrations! We gather to honor Merkið, our national symbol of identity and independence since its official recognition in 1940.

🎺 The Main Ceremony at Vaglið
The official program begins at 15:00, featuring:

A festive parade with Havnar Hornorkestur and local scouts marching to the city center.
The Flag Day speech (flaggdagsrøðan) delivered by Brynhild Thomsen, journalist and communications professional.

🗓️ Other Festivities
Flaggdagsrenningin (12:00): The 38th annual Flag Day Run starts at Kongabrúgvin! Join the competitive race or the charity health walk in support of the Sclerosis Association🏃

Vintage Cars (14:00 – 17:00): See the classic car display from Føroya Ellisakfør at Tórsgøta and Undir Bryggjubakka🚘

⚠️ Traffic Notice
Please note that several downtown streets, including Áarvegurin, Yviri við Strond, and the area around Vaglið, will be closed to vehicle traffic between 11:00 and 17:00 for the event.

🛍️ A lot of stores are closed in connection with Flag Day celebrations - so remember to check their sites before venturing downtown

🇫🇴 Leygardagin 25.apríl verður flaggdagshald á Vaglinum! 🇫🇴

🎺Flaggdagshaldi verður leygardagin 25.apríl kl. 15 á Vaglinum.
Havnar Hornorkestur ganga saman við skótunum í Havn skrúðgongu úr skúlagarðinum hjá Sankta Frans skúla oman á Vaglið, har Brynhild Thomsen, journalistur og samskiftisfólk, heldur flaggdagsrøðuna.

Flaggdagsrenningin verður á Kongabrúnni kl. 12, og Føroya Ellisakfør sýna fram í Tórsgøtu/Undir Bryggjubakka frá 14 - 17.

So kom ein túr oman í býin, har nógv spennandi er at uppliva!

⚠️Í samband við flaggdagin vera fleiri vegir stongdir leygardagin 25. apríl millum kl. 11-17. Les nærri á heimasíðuni hjá Tórshavnar Kommunu.

Important Notice ! In relation to today´s election. 🇫🇴

There are a few people who have not received an election card (Valkort) IF you have the right to vote, but you did not get the election card sent with the post, you hav the option to bring your passport with you to the electon stands to verify your identity and they should find you on the list of voters and provide you with an voting slip.
The election stands are open until eight in the evening.
Every vote counts :)
