For keen bird-watchers, you really would enjoy a visit to Lac Cebron. With their own observatory you can discover the variety of birds in the region... particularly if you coincide your visit with one of the events hosted by the Ornithological Group of Deux-Sèvres (you may need a decent understanding of the language).

Although there is plenty to keep the entire family entertained at Le Moulin, coinciding your family holiday with the FLIP festival in Parthenay guarantees an abundance of things to do. Festival Ludique International de Parthenay is a games festival held for 12 days in July (12th-23rd) throughout the streets and squares of the town centre. Most of the events are free. So how was your Bank Holiday weekend? If it's any consolation, the weather hasn't been too kind in France either... but the good news is, even if the weather takes a turn for the worse, there are plenty of things to keep you busy at Le Moulin....a Slate-based snooker table in lounge area of the Barn, Full size Table Tennis Table, Darts... plus a Library and indoor games.
