Since the creation of the domain in the 17th century, Rayne Vigneau’s vineyard lies on a splendid gravel mound, overlooking Sauternes near the village of Bommes and forming the third highest point in the area after Yquem. The official 1855 classification recognised this 84-hectare single block vineyard among the top wines of Sauternes. The successive owners of this respected château have made considerable financial investments and have made tremendous effort to maintain and develop the excellence of the wines. Today, the château is a true benchmark of the Sauternes appellation with a particularly intense and fresh style and a long finish on the palate.
