Huh, just had a spam call from Algeria, (blocked immediately) and suddenly my fb feed is full of flights to Algeria and other ridiculous things.
Photo added just because, it's been far too few blue sky days this year. Hope you're all safe and cosy, not been blown away or floated off x

Finally chopped down the last 2 metres of the rotten cherry tree. The wood from the rest which had split off and came down in a storm kept us toasty for a whole winter.
Most of this piece is well chewed so it won't produce much usable firewood. The bark is great for kindling though, and cherry burns very hot.

The 'new to us' little antique art deco stove is glowing nicely tonight, keeping the freezing temperatures at bay. I don't think the kitchen has ever felt this warm in 300+ years!

To everyone worried about their 'reach' on Facebook - don't be, they make the figures up.

Apparently my reach this week is up 2700% on last week. That equates to being shown in 130 people's feeds, and 7 likes of my post. Don't be taken in, don't pay for adverts. Do what you do, post for you and your friends, join groups, network. Use Facebook for SOCIAL reasons, refuse to engage with the big companies, don't respond to ads. Let's take it back!

So strange to see catkins in December. The trees are only just taking on their autumn hues, and the sun is warming the air. It's a truly beautiful day for the first of the month.

The gite cottage here at le Petit Manoir looks amazing in the summer sunshine.
Next month we will be ready to take some interior photos, and have friends and family to test out the facilities.
We are taking bookings for next spring/summer now. No deposit required.
The gite has one bedroom, with twin or super king bed. It has a large walk in shower wetroom, and the accommodation is wheelchair friendly.
The decoration is charmingly rustic in style, using many reclaimed materials providing a rural retreat in beautiful quiet countryside.
There is a large lounge with dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen.
A private terrace leads to a garden area with wood fired hot tub and chiminea for perfect relaxed summer evenings.
