Carpiquet-luftwaffe: I Already spoke of such bombs in an article about ww2 carpiquet airfield- remains from around 1940 just found near Carpiquet airport-these are evidence of the Occupation and training by german Luftwaffe- these are dummy bombs ( concrete) training to attack Great britain and others n**i objectives such as the channel blockade of Britain etc. Tracesofwar website says "The bombs had a chemical liquid that started to smoke when the bomb hit the ground. This way the pilots could see if they had hit the training target"

Battle of NORMANDY (II) 2 days of visit with some friends, German friend Otmar Heilmann nicely transported me. This second day 3 october, we were joined by DEREK J FORREST from Scotland(UK), now living in Normandy -he is from the DDAY ACADEMY; he was our Battlefield Guide to visit the « battle of the Falaise pocket ». He showed us that day, places of great interest, memorials, and he explained us the almost complete destruction the 7th Army and the 5th Panzer Army while they were encircled by the Western Allies, 12–21 August 1944 (wikipedia). Many thanks Otmar and Jim for a great remembrance day.

Battle of NORMANDY 1944-. Better it is late than never… here to report (in 2 articles) about 2 days of visit with some friends, 2 and 3 October 2025 ! these days i was nicely transported all over Normandy by a German friend Otmar Heilmann, i have met him in the Memorial of Caen in 2022. The 2 october we went near Saint LO in the US Operation Cobra 25–31 July 1944 sector, Otmar was following his father route while he’d been a Panzergrenadier of the Panzerlehr. We are both remembering the war ; the bad events of yesterday, buiding a friendship : Germany-France, for the good of nowadays Europ. Near Saint LO his father was emprisonned by the Americains and being a prisoner of war, went in the Usa, France and Uk. His father later had survived the war. Afterwards we both visited the German la Cambe cemetery were many German soldiers paid the ultimate prize, had they voluntary followed the N**i regime or being incorporated in this war, a place also of Remembrance which shows the crazyness of war. Not far in the distance is the Us cemetery ( a precedent article about it published on this page). Thank you very much Otmar for that historic visit. (La Cambe some of his past pictures)

Caen south - HILL 112- 10th july 1944 the direction of the Wessex attack/being seen from road chateau Maltot to Eterville . Hello dear readers, expect you are fine. I lived 20years near Hill 112, and i welcomed a few British citizens on the memorial. I now moved to live 5km. I haven't got a car. So when i left 2024 i've done a little video (sound is a bit loud!) sort of moving "farewell" for me (the time for me to reorganize...) this view was what i could see from the coach every morning i was going to Caen, (coach speeds up). The battlefield: in these fields there were a german airfield in 1940 in 1944 the 9th Royal tank regiment paid a heavy price for France freedom there. I'd never Forget their sacrifice. Have a good day. Bidartd
