We've been rather late this year, trying to decide when to go out ourselves and when to offer for friends....May, June and September are now available to friends! I've just reduced the two middle weeks in August...still available: week beginning 7th and week beginning 14th Aug. £545 or near offer.
Very conscious of the fact that brexit has wobbled rather a lot of things including the exchange rate....but the south of France is still the south of France! ....hence my reduction for any last minute holiday folk. Do get in touch with me if you're interested and want to know more....

Tour de France 2016 doesn't go past our door this year, but does do the 'big monster' - stage 12 finish: Mont Ventoux on Thursday July 14th. House available for
this week!

'Appeared on the Tour in 1951, the Giant of Provence welcomed a first stage finish in 1958 after a time-trial that allowed Charly Gaul to build on his future Tour success. For the first finish of a normal stage, Raymond Poulidor triumphed in 1965 without however managing to take the Yellow Jersey from Felice Gimondi's shoulders. In 2013, the man wearing yellow was even more untouchable: Chris Froome's stage win remains as one of his best ever days on a bike.'

And on a southern coast line of Lac de Serre Poncon you come across this extraordinary sight....Les Demoiselles Coiffés at Sauze du lac...natural weathering has caused this curiosity - you can walk up by the side of these, but not too close, they are quite unstable.

Lac de Serre Poncon. Largest man-made lake in Europe....it is an exceptionally beautiful reservoir. Situated in the southern french Alps: go east from Gap - approx 1 1/4 hrs from the house - fantastic day out, all water sports here and spectacular drive all round its borders. Embrun at the east end - gateway to higher eastern Alps and the Italian border. La grande barrage (dam) at the south western end leading to the Durance and watering a vast area of Provence.

So this time last year, we arrived at the house for a snowy Christmas....no snow! The first 3 photos are taken at the top of ski runs in the Devoluy and Station de Laye. By the time we came to leave, the white stuff was everywhere....so beautiful but the road down from the house a little scary....

Autumnal reflections...I had to pop over to the house last week to interview a contractor for some work. I didn't expect brilliant weather, but it was wonderfully sunny, very calm and the late autumn colours were so rich. You can get flights to Marseille for less than a rail ticket to London just now!

I'm just putting a new page together for the house. 2016 is completely available at the moment!
