84 years ago, as part of Operation , nearly 5,000 Canadian soldiers landed on the shores of , paving the way for future Allied operations, including the landings of June 6, 1944.
In just a few hours, more than 900 Canadians lost their lives, while thousands more were wounded or captured.
Today in Dieppe, together with our French friends, we honour the courage, sacrifice and determination of the soldiers who served that day.

Looking back on a week celebrating Acadia in Normandy!

Concerts, meetings, cultural activities: last week week, and its special ties with France took centre stage along the Côte de Nacre during Week.

🍁From Carpiquet to Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, via Bernières-sur-Mer, Authie, Bény-sur-Mer and Courseulles-sur-Mer, and in the presence of Canadian Minister Diab, several commemorative ceremonies honoured the memory of the Acadian soldiers who took part in the landings and paid tribute to the sacrifices of all those who helped liberate France and Europe.

Thank you to the organizers, local officials, artists, volunteers, and all those who help preserve and celebrate this shared history, strengthening the lasting friendship between Canada and France.
