The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) is the intergovernmental organisation embodying the commitment of its 184 Member States to lead, promote and foster International Exhibitions for the benefit of the citizens of the international community. The BIE oversees four types of International Exhibitions: World Expos, Specialised Expos, Horticultural Expos and Triennale Milano. International E

Inspired by ammonites, the PASONA NATUREVERSE pavilion offered visitors to Osaka Kansai a deep dive into life and the potential for greater coexistence between people, nature and technology.

After welcoming visitors from around the world, the pavilion is now destined for a second life on Awaji Island – where it will be relocated to serve the community.

During the course of the 24th Triennale Milano International Exhibition, a series of papier-mâché sculptures stood at the front of the Palazzo dell’Arte as part of the ‘Fragility of the future’ series. The imposing hippopotamus symbolised the contradiction between strength and fragility in a world marked by inequalities.
