We’re delighted to announce our Fall 2026 Cultural Fellow, Leïla Slimani. From her Prix Goncourt–winning breakthrough with The Perfect Nanny to the family-rooted trilogy of Country of Others and Watch Us Dance, Slimani has become one of France's most vital literary voices.

📅 Join Leïla Slimani on Wednesday 9 September for a conversation on writing, memory, identity, and the intersections of family and colonial history. This will be the inaugural event of Letters Home, our series of curated programs celebrating and exploring the many ways we imagine, remember, and return to home from afar.

Trade your beach towel for a book (or bring both)—we are setting up shop at the water's edge! 🌊

Created with the U.S. Embassy in Paris, our open-air kiosk celebrates Franco-American friendship with 250+ books for all ages, including American classics, French titles in translation, manga, and magazines. 🇺🇸🇫🇷 Beyond reading, the kiosk will offer family activities, curated bibliographies on 250 years of American history, and the chance to win an annual household membership!

Just bring an ID to browse on-site all afternoon.
