I am concerned by reports that criminal proceedings for serious police misconduct against a female student during the July 2025 Belgrade protests may be stopped through deferred prosecution. This risks further undermining trust in law enforcement and reinforcing the climate of impunity which I noted recently. I call for effective investigations, prosecution and, where appropriate, dissuasive penalties for police misconduct during protests in hashtag .

At the Gender Equality Commission's annual conference, I set out four areas in which we need to engage to reclaim women’s roles in peace and security: overcoming patriarchy and misogyny, eradicating gender-based violence, embedding women, peace and security in peacetime and conflict prevention, and building better partnerships across states and civil society and across multilateral organisations.

1er jour de ma visite en dédiée aux personnes âgées en institution: à Schiltigheim et Strasbourg, j'ai visité deux Ehpad et j'ai été honoré par l'accueil chaleureux des résidents et du personnel. Je les remercie pour le temps accordé et la qualité de nos échanges.

Day 1 of my visit to focusing on older persons in residential care. Visited two care homes (Ehpad) in Schiltigheim and Strasbourg. I was honored by the warm welcome from the residents and staff. I would like to thank them for their time and for the quality of our discussions.
