Welcome to the Official page of the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the Council of Europe.

Cyprus is a member state of the Council of Europe since 1961 and participates actively in all the bodies and organs. Cyprus has always promoted the Council’s principles and values and especially in the field of safeguarding and promoting of human and social rights. Cyprus will hold for the fifth time the Chairmanship of the Committee Ministers of the Council of Europe, the executive body of the Council, between 22 November 2016 and 19 May 2017.
