There is a Met Office YELLOW weather warning for heavy rain from Storm Austen covering Aberdeen and some of Scotland.
It is from 6am to on Friday to 3am on Saturday.
❗ There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
❗ Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
❗ Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
❗ There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads
❗ There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses

🎉💙 Celebrating One Year of Partnership, Prevention and Positive Impact! 💙🎉

Today marks one year since the launch of the Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland Grampian Health Defence Team, a fantastic collaboration between Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership and Sport Aberdeen

Launched on 21 October 2025, this partnership has brought health checks, early intervention and wellbeing support closer to the heart of our communities.

🌟 And what a first year it's been!

❤️ 1,456 health checks completed

🩺 351 elevated blood pressure readings identified

💜 227 cholesterol results above recommended levels identified

📏 389 high-risk waist circumference measurements identified

🤝 Over 150 follow-up appointments provided

But behind every number is a person who has been given the opportunity to better understand their health, make positive lifestyle changes and access support before more serious health problems develop.

Through the Aberdeen Vaccination & Wellbeing Hub, Sport Aberdeen's Get Active Northfield, Community Appointment Days and local outreach events, we've worked together to make preventative healthcare more accessible, particularly for those who may face barriers to accessing traditional services.

💙 Our greatest achievement isn't just the number of health checks delivered, it's the conversations started, the risks identified early and the difference we're making to people's lives.

As we celebrate this milestone, we want to recognise the dedication of everyone involved and the strength of partnership working in creating healthier communities.

Here's to continuing to build on this success, reaching more people and making prevention everyone's business!
