📣 Open Call: Unlimited Partner Award 📣

We are delighted to partner with Unlimited We Are Unlimited on the Partner Awards which are now open. Alongside other brilliant partners across Scotland, England and Wales the awards collectively offer £280k for disabled artists to make bold new work.

The Partner Awards will support projects at any stage of development and across art forms.

SSW Programme and Partnerships Director Sam Trotman says of the partnership - 'Workshops are places of transformation, where artists can rebuild the world anew. SSW is excited to partner with Unlimited to do just that - throwing open the workshop doors and rethinking what is possible to create together.”

🆕 Applications are now open for the Youth Music Initiative’s Access to Music Making and Strengthening Youth Music Funds!

🎼 The Funds support individuals and organisations working in the youth music sector to deliver activities that will improve, develop and strengthen the sector, and the services offered to benefit children and young people across the country.

ℹ️ Applicants can request between £1000 and £40,000 through Access to Music Making, for music-making projects designed for children and young people. Grants between £1000 and £20,000 are available through Strengthening Youth Music for sector and service development projects.

🏮 Open Call - Lead Artist for Illuminate Together

In very exciting news, we have a new opportunity available at the Barn. We're looking for a Lead Artist to develop and deliver Illuminate Together - a creative community project inspired by light, nature and community. The project will bring together local people through creative lantern-making activities, culminating in a celebration at Banchory Bonfire Night on November 7.

Deadline coming up for applications to the Youth Arts Open Fund! ⏰

Artists, youth organisations and community groups across Scotland are invited to apply to the fund, which supports youth-led arts projects for children and young people who face barriers to accessing creative opportunities.

ℹ️ Freelance artists can apply for up to £10k, and organisations can apply for up to £20k.

This workshop is for anyone who sings. In the shower - in the car - to your children at night - in private - while working. Anyone who sings or would like to sing, but has never felt ‘good enough’ to sing with others.

Come along to raise your voice with other bad singers in beautifully out-of-tune songs, chants and vocal exercises. The workshop will be led by enthusiastic amateur singer and artist-in-residence, Rah Naqvi, who will lead us through simple and fun exercises exploring the potentials of singing badly and singing radically for creating connection, telling our own stories and building solidarity.

Creative Opportunities for Music Commissions!

NEW CALL-OUT FOR MUSIC COMMIISSIONS 📣🌍

We are seeking 2 composers or musicians to create new works in direct response our Dear Soil Installation, an archive of love letters written to the ground beneath our feet.

Each commissioned artist will spend time with the letters: reading, listening, sitting with what they find and creating a new piece of music to be performed at the Music Hall Big Sky Studio on October 1st during North East Climate Week.
