Christchurch, North Street, Abergavenny NP7 7EA – first Sunday of the month
We are delighted to announce that, from February 1, there will be a Welsh language Eucharist at 11am on the first Sunday of every month at Christchurch, North Street, NP7 7EA. The service will be led by the Revd Dan Damon and is aimed at both fluent Welsh speakers and learners (the Order of Service will be printed in both English and Welsh) and will include some of the many beautiful Welsh hymns. There will be refreshments after the service. Some parking is available in the church grounds while there is also on-street parking. All very welcome.

NOTICE is hereby given that a vacancy has arisen at No.3 Trinity Square, Baker Street, Abergavenny NP7 5BG
The Charity Scheme provides that an almshouse can be provided as accommodation for “ women of good character of not less than 55 years of age who are members of the Church of England or the Church in Wales and were born in the area of benefit or are widows of natives born in the area of benefit, or have been resident in the area of benefit for not less than two years preceding their appointment.”
The “area of benefit” means the parishes within the Ministry Areas of Abergavenny, North Monmouthshire and Heart of Monmouthshire.
Notes:
1. Applicants should be in receipt of Universal or Pension Credit and, if currently a tenant, Housing Benefit;
2. In special cases to be approved by the Charity Commission women who do not possess the prescribed qualification as to residence may be appointed if otherwise qualified;
3. Almspeople are required to contribute a weekly sum, usually covered by housing benefit, towards the cost of maintaining their almshouses.
If you would like to apply for the vacancy please apply for an application form by letter to the Clerk to the Trustees, Miss Rachel Herbert’s Almshouses Charity, 32 Monk Street ,Abergavenny, Monmouthshire NP7 5NW, from where forms of application are also available for collection, or by email to [email protected].
Applications must be received on or before Monday 9 February 2026.
