Don’t lose your vote – check your details

This September, we’re emailing more than 88,000 properties as part of our annual Voter Registration Canvass.

If you receive an email from us, please respond by 2 October to check and confirm your household’s details.

Please note - our email will come from a different, longer address:

electoral.services.south.oxfordshire.and.vale.of.white.horse.district.councils@notifications.service.gov.uk, however, it only takes a few minutes, and each household only needs to respond once.

Whether you're a landlord, builder, landscaper, cleaner, shop owner or sole trader, most businesses do the right thing and dispose of their waste through a legal commercial waste service.

Any waste produced as part of a business, trade or commercial activity, no matter how large or small, cannot be disposed of at a Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) are provided for residents to dispose of their household waste.

If you're running a business or producing commercial waste, you have a legal duty of care to ensure that your waste is managed safely and responsibly.

To comply with your duty of care, you should use a licensed commercial waste facility or a registered waste carrier when arranging waste disposal. This could include taking waste to a privately operated waste management facility or arranging collection through a licensed waste carrier, such as a commercial waste collection or skip hire company.

Remember to keep records of how your waste has been managed, including:
-Waste transfer notes
-Receipts or invoices from your waste disposal provider

These documents help demonstrate that your waste has been handled legally and responsibly. If you transport waste yourself arising from, or as part of a business activity, you will need to have a waste carriers licence.
