To finish our week of Police Cadets and celebrate National Cadets Week, we managed to gather an amazing 38 cadets at Townley Park this evening.

Police Cadets from Pendle, Burnley and Hyndburn, along with volunteer leaders from each unit, joined together to support Pendleside Hospice’s inaugural Starlight Walk in Townley Park.

The cadets offered lots of encouragement to participants as they set off on the walk, before helping to light the way along the route, clapping and cheering on the walkers as they passed.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved, showing the community spirit and enthusiasm of our Police Cadets while supporting such a worthy local cause.

Well done to all the cadets and volunteer leaders who took part.

🇬🇧 National Cadet Week at Hyndburn Cadets! 🇬🇧

This evening, we were delighted to welcome Mayor Nordat to Hyndburn Cadets as part of National Cadet Week.

The Mayor spoke to our cadets about his journey into politics, his career to date, the role and responsibilities of being Mayor, and his aspirations for the future.

Our cadets asked some fantastic questions, leading to some really interesting answers and discussions! 👏 It was a great opportunity for them to learn more about local government, leadership and public service.

A huge thank you to Mayor Nordat for taking the time to visit us and share his experiences with our cadets. It was an engaging and informative evening for everyone involved!

Last Sunday, Police Cadets from Burnley and Hyndburn supported the Mini H3 Health and Happiness event at Rhyddings Park.

The cadets helped the organisers by manning two charity stalls, as well as running their own police uniform dress-up stall.

All of the cadets behaved impeccably and really enjoyed engaging with members of the public throughout the event. The mayor of Hyndburn also visited and spent time talking to the cadets.

A big thank you to all the cadets who gave up their time to support the event.

Today Police Cadets from all of our East based units came together for a 10km sponsored walk and litter pick, along the canal from Nelson to Burnley. We elected to raise money for Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue who supply a vital service to our area. They don't only rescue people from Mountains as the name may suggest, they cover a wide range of services from looking for high risk missing persons to attending to patients who the ambulance service aren't able to reach.

They supply this valuable service on a volunteer basis without receiving any funding from the government and rely on charitable donations. To date the efforts of our Cadets have helped to raise in excess of £500 so far, which may help to purchase vital equipment, supplies or fuel their fleet of essential specialist vehicles.

Thank you to the cadets for the enthusiasm and willingness to support such important causes and our leaders for supporting them in their efforts.

Well done Cadets now go and smash some cake!

This afternoon, cadets from our Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle units came together to support Party in the Park at Memorial Park, Padiham. ☀️

Our cadets manned a stall promoting the Police Cadets and engaged with members of the local community, while also providing crime prevention advice and information leaflets.

One of the most popular activities was giving some of our younger visitors the chance to dress up in police uniform — with plenty of future officers showing off their best police poses! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

A big thank you to all the cadets and young leaders who gave up their afternoon to support the event. Your enthusiasm and commitment are really appreciated. 👏

Cadets from all of our East-based units — Blackburn, Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle — came together for a fun activity day at Whitehough.

Many of the instructor-led activities were designed to develop teamwork, coordination, resilience and fitness, but the main priority was simple — to have fun!

Throughout the day, our cadets tested their own limits, with some conquering fears and stepping outside their comfort zones. Everyone gave every activity a great go, supporting and encouraging each other along the way. 💪👏

A huge thank you to the staff and instructors at Whitehough for providing such a fantastic experience day for our cadets.

We’d also like to show our appreciation to our amazing volunteer leaders, who gave up what was a long day to support, encourage and supervise our cadets. Your commitment makes days like this possible. 👏

Well done to everyone who took part! 🚔💙

Cadets Support Ightenhill Park Festival
Today, cadets from Burnley, Pendle and Hyndburn came together at Ightenhill Park to support the Friends of Ightenhill Park at their annual festival.

Our cadets got stuck in, helping to run a fantastic range of stalls, including Hook a Duck, Hoop a Loop, Football Darts, drinks and snacks, and surprise prizes. They also had their own Police Cadets stand, where they promoted the scheme and shared valuable crime prevention advice with members of the public.

The festival was very well attended, helped by the lovely weather, and our cadets thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the local community while helping to raise money for a great cause.

A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteer leaders for supporting the cadets throughout the event. 👏

Well done to everyone involved! 🚓💙

Lancashire Police Cadets from Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle travelled to Liverpool for an exciting and informative visit with the Underwater Search Team.

The specialist team demonstrated their equipment and explained how they search underwater for a wide range of evidential items, as well as missing or vulnerable people. Cadets also received an important water safety talk and had the opportunity to practise using a throw line.

The group then travelled to our own Communications Room at Hutton HQ, where Communications Supervisor David showed the cadets around the department. He explained how the room is organised and gave an insight into how the Communications Room operates and supports policing across Lancashire.

It was a fantastic day, giving our cadets the opportunity to learn more about two very different specialist areas of policing. They had a brilliant time and came away with plenty of new knowledge and experiences.

A huge thank you to the Underwater Search Team and David in Communications for taking the time to speak with our cadets and make the day so informative and enjoyable. 👏👮‍♂️🚔

🚁 An exciting visit to NPAS Barton!

This morning, Lancashire Police Cadets from Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle had the pleasure of visiting the NPAS Barton base.

The cadets learned all about the role of the police helicopter, including the specialist equipment and tactics used by the team. They also learned more about when, where and why the helicopter may be deployed to support policing operations.

The highlight for many was the opportunity to climb aboard the helicopter and get a closer look at the impressive onboard technology and equipment used by the crew.

A huge thank you to the team at Barton for taking the time to show our cadets around, answer their questions and provide such an interesting and informative visit. 🚔🚁

It was a fantastic experience and a great opportunity for our cadets to gain an insight into another specialist area of policing.
