PCSO's Gamble and Thornley will be holding Police surgeries at Brook Lane Cafe on Tuesday 18th August between 3pm and 4pm, and at Alderley Edge Library on Friday 28th August between 3pm and 4pm. Drop by to find out more.

PCSO's Gamble and Thornley will be running surgeries at Brook Lane Cafe on Tuesday 28th July between 3pm and 4pm, and at Alderley Edge Library on Wednesday 29th July between 12.30pm and 1.30pm - drop in during these times slots to ask any questions or raise a query.

Temporary Road closure in place - Moss Lane, Alderley Edge, SK9 7JH between the junctions with Marlborough Avenue and Mottram Road. Diversions are in place. Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times. Cyclists will be required to dismount in order for access to be maintained. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible. The closure is necessary for works to be carried out by Cadent Gas. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 13th and 16th July 2026. If you have any enquiries relating to the works please contact Cadent Gas on 0800 111 999.

Please see bin collection information from Cheshire East Council for Thursday, if you have had a missed collection, please report via the Cheshire East website.

With the exception of three crews collecting recycling in Knutsford, Prestbury and Over Peover, bin collection rounds are operational as normal today for scheduled black bin (refuse), recycling collections and garden waste for subscribers.

Our bin collection crews are working hard to complete as many rounds as possible, but temperatures remain very high across Cheshire East, and the conditions are tough for our crews to work in.

To keep them safe, our crews need to wear full protective clothing. They cover miles on foot each day, and so the extreme heat is really having an impact, and rounds are taking longer to complete. It means we may not be able to get to all collections this week.

We thank you for your patience and we'll do all we can to return to any missed collections. Cheshire East Council website will continue to be kept updated with the latest information.

We’d also like to say a big thank you to those residents who’ve offered kind words, waves and encouragement to our crews this week – they really appreciate it!

🌲Village Ranger in Action 🌲
This week the Village Ranger has been busy clearing the pathway between Crescent Road and Annis Road, and a pathway to the park. A hedge in Alderley Edge Park has had a much needed trim too. Keeping our village looking neat and tidy!

Our eggciting Easter Egg Hunt around Alderley Edge village centre proved very popular, with lots of enthusiastic hunters out to find the creatively hidden eggs in local shops.

The Parish Council would like to thank everyone who took part in the search, the businesses and the Library who all embraced the idea of this fun way for families to explore the village together over Easter.

The winners in the prize draw were Tom (in the under 8 age group) and Maisie (in the 8-12 age group who also needed to work out the Easter phrase). They were invited along for a special Easter Egg prize at Alderley Edge Library where all completed entries had to be dropped off. There was also a bonus prize of an Easter bunny toy kindly provided by San Carlo for Thomas (in the under 8 age group). The parents of the winners echoed the thoughts of all those taking part, commenting that they really enjoyed doing the Egg Hunt and it was a lovely way to spend time together in the village over the holiday.
