Chloe's and Sophie's Special Ears Fund

Chloe's and Sophie's Special Ears Fund Our aim is to brighten the lives of Deaf children through interventions & support at home and school. Chloe’s and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund (CSSEF).

CSSEF is inspired and motivated by Chloe and Sophie Jackson. Chloe and Sophie are both from Aldershot, Hampshire. When Chloe was 4 years old, her parents went along to a routine yearly hearing test. Chloe’s parents were told the words they never thought they would hear, Chloe was deaf. A question mark hung over Sophie’s hearing. After being told she could hear on many occasions, her parents were t

old that Sophie was deaf as well. Shortly after Chloe started school, her parents found out there was things out there that could help her hear more in the classroom and school. However, there was little to no funding to provide this. This was the day CSSEF was founded, 21st October 2010.

🌈 We were so proud to be part of the Flintshire Schools Pride event this year, hosted by Castell Alun School 🌈

Our Wish Granting Champion, Zeta Lloyd, had an amazing day celebrating inclusion, identity, and community with so many inspiring young people. It was wonderful to chat with students about what we do and how we support Deaf children both in school and at home across Flintshire.

Events like this are so important—they create safe, welcoming spaces where every child can feel seen, heard, and valued 💙
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to speak with us—we loved being part of such a special day!

Does your school have any events that you would like us to attend? If you do, please email in to Zeta or Charlotte on [email protected] 💙

Schools areas we cover are: Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, South West London, Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire.

Deaf Hub North Wales is back 12th September at Ty Calon. This is a safe space for Deaf children and their families plus CODA families to come together so they can socialise with other families with Deaf children, to share information and make new friends.

As a charity, we work hard to keep our activities affordable and accessible for all families. To help cover the costs of venues, refreshments, workshops, and materials, we ask for a £10.00 annual family membership or £3.00 per family per session. Membership gives you access to Deaf Hub activities and lots more.

If you know of any families with Deaf children in Wrexham, Flintshire, or Denbighshire, please do pass this information along. We’re always excited to welcome new families into our community.

💙 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY AT PAULTONS PARK! 💙

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds us exactly why CSSEF exists. 💙

As part of our CSSEF Summer Activities Programme, we took 21 families of Deaf children to Paultons Park for an unforgettable day of fun, laughter, friendship and, of course Peppa Pig World 🐷🎢

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for making it possible💙Seeing 21 families come together was truly special — and we’re already looking forward to booking again next year! 🙌

🌟 But the biggest highlight wasn't the rides…

It was watching our charity children form friendships with one another.

It was seeing parents chatting, laughing and connecting with other families who understand their experiences.

And then came the moment that absolutely melted our hearts…

🐷💙 GEORGE PIG! 💙🐷

Karen, our CEO, had been in touch with George Pig before our visit to let him know that some very special visitors were coming to see him — and to make sure he was super excited for their arrival!

And he certainly was! 🥹

Watching our Deaf children meet George Pig, who is Deaf just like them, was incredibly emotional.

Their smiles were HUGE. 😍
Their eyes were sparkling. ✨
And the parents looked like their hearts were completely full. ❤️

For many of these children, seeing a much-loved character with his blue hearing aid on and communicate with them in sign language was a moment they won't forget.

And let's be honest… you are never too old for Peppa Pig World! 😂

We didn't take any children with us in the queue for our meeting with George Pig from Team Blue — but that doesn't mean we couldn't fulfil our own inner child! So we made absolutely sure that Team Blue got to meet George Pig too! 💙🐷

And George was VERY excited when he realised that Karen, Zach and Sarah could all sign! 🥰

The reaction from everyone around us was priceless. The crowd couldn't believe what they were seeing — a Deaf children's charity right there in Peppa Pig World, meeting George Pig and communicating with him in sign language.

It was one of those wonderfully unexpected moments where everyone stopped and watched. 💙

Yesterday wasn't just about a day out.

It was about belonging.

It was about children seeing someone who communicates like them.

It was about parents connecting with other families.

It was about friendships being made.

And it was about creating happy memories that these families will treasure. 💙

This is exactly what our Summer Activities Programme is all about.

Giving Deaf children opportunities to have fun, make friends, build confidence and feel included.

And yesterday at Paultons Park, there were certainly a LOT of happy faces. 🥰

A huge thank you again to The National Lottery Community Fund and to everyone who makes these experiences possible and supports CSSEF. Without our incredible supporters, days like this simply wouldn't happen.

We can't wait to see what next year's Summer Programme brings! 💙
