Corps SM update -

Yesterday I visited 17 Port and Maritime Regiment RLC and SSgt (SSI) O Dales RAPTC.

The visit started with a customary PT session with the Sqn, being put through my paces by a talented AAPTI in the final stages of her preparation for RAPTC Selection - Good luck 💪🏻

I then spent the day receiving updates from the SSI on the Unit and how he / his Unit are getting after the Corps strategy for the betterment of Defence.

In the afternoon, I was Port side, learning the different trades of the Unit and the considerations the Corps instructor needs to understand when constructing the PTP. Following this, we hit the open water and took the boats for a spin, a great experience and we returned the boat (under supervision) with no damage. This was followed up with office calls with the CoC which as always, were hugely beneficial.

In addition, SSgt Dales departs for Las Vegas on Tuesday to compete in the BJJ World Championships, he fights on Thursday and the Corps family will be tracking with interest.

Unit visits are integral in witnessing first hand the sheer size, volume, capacity and impact our RAPTCIs are having at Unit / Corps / Defence level.

One to watch and a hugely impressive SSgt at the very top of his game 🔴⚫️⚔️

RAPTC Association Northern Europe Cemetery Tour 26

The team continued their tour today by visiting 3 SP who lost their lives in WW1, this was followed by visiting Le Paradis.

Le Paradis in the final video was the location where Sgt Campbell was murdered by the SS alongside 96 others, the barn in the video was the location of the executions.

The stark reality of war, a grave that is permanently filled has left a seat at the family table which will always be empty.

We must remain ever cognisant of the service and sacrifice of those who have gone before us, we build on their foundations, we are the guardians of the past, custodians of the present and the architects for the future of this great Corps. The Corps family doesn’t forget 🔴⚫️⚔️
