Sadly, last night, one of our Fire Fighters Charity clothing recycling bins was deliberately set alight.

Not only is starting deliberate fires extremely dangerous, but this mindless action has destroyed clothes kindly donated by our fantastic communities and supporters.

Like all charities, every pound raised makes a big difference. Needless incidents like this have a direct impact on the people who rely on the Fire Fighters Charity’s services during what could be the most challenging time in their life. Money that could have gone towards supporting members of our fire service community will now have to be used to cover the costs of this damage.

We’d like to thank our crews who attended the incident and everyone who continues to support the Fire Fighters Charity.

📍 Got the alarm — but is it in the right place?

Where you fit your alarms matters. Have at least one smoke alarm on every level of your home, ideally on the ceiling in hallways and landings where the warning can be heard.

For extra protection, consider alarms in bedrooms and other rooms with fire risks. In the kitchen, consider a heat alarm instead of a smoke alarm.

Join us for our ‘Have a Go' Day on Saturday 10th October at Skegness fire station and experience some of the job-related tests for yourself🔥🚒

The day will be running between 10am and 2pm.

The day is aimed at anybody 18 or above thinking of joining Lincolnshire fire and rescue as a Firefighter.

Please come along if you live or work in Skegness or the surrounding areas !

There will be plenty of people here to talk to about the job role if you have any questions.

🛒 Buying a smoke alarm? Make it one less thing to remember.

For most people, a 10-year sealed-battery smoke alarm is a great option — no annual battery change to forget. Look for an approved, safe alarm and always follow the manufacturer’s fitting instructions.
