🏰 When Aberdeen Football Club looked across the North-east for inspiration for its new third kit, one distinctive pink castle stood out. 🩷

Developed with technical partner Macron and in partnership with the National Trust for Scotland, the club’s new 2026–27 strip was unveiled at Craigievar Castle today.

Its pink and grey design takes inspiration from Craigievar’s famous exterior, with a stylised graphic of the castle on the back of the neck. The connection is particularly fitting as Craigievar celebrates its 400th anniversary this year.

The launch forms part of a wider collaboration between Aberdeen FC and the National Trust for Scotland, celebrating the region’s heritage and the places that help make it distinctive.

🍂 Seek out Scotland's iconic pink castle this autumn. 🧡
Plan your visit at nts.org.uk/visit/places/craigievar

Rising from a hillside above the Aberdeenshire countryside, Craigievar’s unmistakable pink towers feel all the more remarkable in their secluded setting.

🏰 Step inside on an intimate guided tour and discover a castle that remained a family home until the 1960s. With no artificial lighting above the ground floor, its atmospheric rooms are seen in shifting natural light, much as generations of the Forbes family experienced them. Original collections, ornate plasterwork and centuries of stories fill the castle, from the great hall to its winding turret stairs.

🕙 The castle and kiosk are open Friday to Monday until 28 September, then on Saturdays and Sundays until 25 October. We close over winter due to light restrictions and our rural location.

👉 Tour places are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no advance booking. Please check the website before travelling and arrive early to secure your place.

📢 Due to a private function in the castle on Tuesday 18 August, there will be no tours after 12pm.

The shop will close at 2pm but the kiosk will remain open for refreshments. The grounds will be open but please note that the castle will be closed.

Remember, there’s no such thing as a ‘harmless’ fire.

Please visit the NTS guidance on responsibly visiting our countryside locations: https://www.nts.org.uk/stories/encouraging-responsible-access-to-the-countryside

A very high wildfire risk is forecast across central highlands, southern and eastern Scotland later this week and into the weekend.

If you're enjoying the warmer weather, please do so responsibly. One spark can start a wildfire that destroys property, wildlife and landscapes.

Stay vigilant, even if a warning is not in place in your area.
