Two evenings of extraordinary council meetings requested by the Conservative Group.

When Trafford's Children's Services was judged inadequate, we believed it was essential to seek answers and demand action. Yet Labour chose to amend our motion to avoid taking responsibility for these serious failings.

As a mother and as a corporate parent, I find that both shocking and deeply disappointing. When vulnerable children have been let down, the priority should be accountability, improvement, and ensuring this never happens again.

The Conservative Group will continue to ask the difficult questions, hold the Labour administration to account, and fight for the changes needed to protect Trafford's children and give them the support they deserve.

🚨 Ofsted's "Inadequate" judgement of Trafford Children's Services 🚨

Ofsted's recent findings on Trafford Children's Services are incredibly concerning, and our children, young people and families simply deserve better.

As Shadow Executive Member for Babies, Children and Young People, I've written to the Council Leader, Councillor Tom Ross, and Jill McGregor, the Corporate Director of Children's Services, asking some important questions and requesting a meeting as soon as possible.

Most importantly, residents deserve an open and robust process to put things right. But Trafford's Labour leadership must also take responsibility for this failing.

The Conservative group strongly believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life, and we will continue to hold the Labour administration to account until Trafford's children and families get the high-quality services they deserve.

🚨 Ofsted's verdict on Trafford Children's Services should concern every resident.

Inspectors found that delays in responding to safeguarding concerns have left some children at risk of harm. Referrals were not processed quickly enough, children waited too long for support, and vulnerable young people were left in unsafe situations while decisions were delayed.

Perhaps most worrying of all, Ofsted found that council leaders did not fully understand the scale of these failings until the inspection took place and that the pace of improvement had been too slow.

After more than eight years of Labour running Trafford Council, residents will rightly ask how children's services have deteriorated to this point.

While I welcome the positive work of frontline staff and the improvements made for children already in care, these serious safeguarding failures cannot be ignored.

As Shadow Executive Member for Babies, Children and Young People, I will be holding the Council to account and seeking urgent assurances about what immediate action is being taken to protect vulnerable children, reduce delays, and restore confidence in these vital services.

Nothing is more important than keeping our children safe. Trafford must do better.

Well done to Phil Eckersley for highlighting our farmers issues.

Residents deserve to know where the money goes. They deserve value for money. And they deserve a Mayor who is accountable to them.

No more blank cheques. No more closed-door decisions. No more excuses.

Great as ever to chat with Phil Eckersley about his plans should he be elected as Mayor of Greater Manchester.

The closure of Altrincham's Minor Injuries Unit has placed greater pressure upon Wythenshawe Hospital and makes it much harder for our residents to access care.

Phil has a plan. Vote Conservative on 30th July πŸ™ŒπŸ’™
