Are you aged 16-25 and local to Hawkshead?

📣 The Hawkshead Grammar School grants are now open for application until September 30th!

People aged 16-25 can apply for a grant to help with university, apprenticeships or vocational training for the 2026-27 academic year. Transportation grants are also available for 16-18 year olds at school or college. 🎓

It's time to announce our next Talk at the School, this time hosted by Hawkshead Grammar School's very own Neil Salisbury!

Join Neil to explore the fascinating stories of the boys who studied at the school over the centuries.

Tickets also include a chance to visit our current exhibition and historic library. Light refreshments will be provided.

Happy National Poets Day! 🖋️

Hawkshead Grammar School is where it all began for the Lake District’s most famous poet, William Wordsworth. 🌼

We have a wonderful selection of his writing available in our shop, as well as some local poetry anthologies. We hope you can leave feeling as inspired as Wordsworth did! 📚

We love seeing our young visitors enjoying dressing up and getting into character! 📚

Despite being younger than usual, this headmaster was taking his role very seriously, no messing about in class allowed! School founder Edwin Sandys would definitely have approved.

We are open every day throughout the school holidays, so why not pop in for a visit and let the kids' imaginations run wild… 💭
