Save the date... Monday 27 July at 7.15pm, Meet the authors at Royal Wootton Bassett Library

We're very excited to welcome not just one author but two: August Bloom and Jack Strange. Join them for an in-conversation event where they will be talking about writing books set in bookshops. This is a session not to be missed.

Meet the data engineer, Met Office: Shohail Ismail at Bradford on Avon Library

On Saturday 20 June 2026, 11am, join us for a fascinating session about Shohail's work at the Met Office. This is an exciting opportunity to learn more about climate mis-information, disinformation and mal-information. Shohail is a nationally recognised advocate for equitable technology, a UK Youth Representative for the Council of Europe's Ethical AI forums, and a Data Engineer placement student at the Met Office. He has been recognised through the Royal Academy of Engineering as 1 of 7 'Engineering Champions' of 2025. Come and be inspired as we welcome Shohail to Wiltshire.

Wiltshire Libraries supports HiVIS fortnight 1-14 June 2026 promoting access to reading for any visual impairment. Did you know you can change the text size of our e-Books (free to download via the Libby app) to make them Large Print?
In the ‘Appearance’ tab select “Include Accessibility Sizes” then increase the ‘text scale’.

Former mental health nurse, award-winning novelist and creative writing lecturer, Nathan is author of ""The Shock of the Fall"" and ""The Heartland: Finding and Losing Schizophrenia"". His work explores mental health with insight, compassion and creativity.

This event is part of the Words Alive in Libraries tour, presented by South Western Regional Library Services and Literature Works, and funded by Arts Council England.

Creative writing workshop at Corsham Library with Nathan Filer

Join us on Thursday 2 July at 3pm as award-winning novelist, Nathan Flier, leads participants through a series of writing exercises that draw on personal experience and narrative techniques. The emphasis is on craft rather than confession: building scenes, choosing detail, and shaping lived material into clear, engaging prose. The session explores how writing from life can raise questions of meaning and wellbeing without reducing experience to simple messages or resolutions. Suitable for writers of all levels.
