This week in the mouse room, we have been cleaning our painting easel. The children have been making lovely marks on the easel, so we decided it was time for a quick wash, and the children loved helping. We used water and lots of different rags to give it a good clean.

In foxes this week we have been exploring creating marks with flour! We used our hands and fingers to trace circles and lines and even explored the tracks that cars make in the flour- Great Mark making foxes!

This week in Owls, we have been focusing on road safety. The children have been discussing what keeps us safe near roads, such as holding a grown-up's hand and waiting at traffic lights. We also learned how to cross the road safely by following the steps: 'Stop, look, and listen.' Some children took their interest further into the construction area, where they built their own roads, cars, and tunnels. Well done, Owls!

The children in mouse room enjoyed the sandpit this week, we have pretended that it has been a construction zone. The children used the diggers to scoop up the sand and transport them over the side of the tuff tray. One child noticed the cones and pointed out they were "yellow" where as another child notice they had holes in them.

Today is International Dog Day! This week, we have been celebrating by drawing pictures of our own dogs. Some of the Owl children have shared photos of their dogs and other pets, which we have displayed during group time. We have enjoyed discussing how we care for our pets, as well as creating imaginary pets and naming them. Great job on the mark making, Owls!

In Foxes we have been learning about emotions, to extend our learning we made and explored colour monster spaghetti! We read the story and matched images of the various emotions to what we could see in the book. Great exploring Foxes!

Foxes ice-cream shop is open for business! In Foxes this week we have been busy organising and selling ice-creams to our peers and adults. Yummy yummy foxes!

This week in Owls, we have been identifying and recognising different letters. We focused on the letters S, A, T, P, I, and N, sounding them out together. Some of the owls were able to name various items that begin with 'S' and 'P', such as snake, Pat, and snap. Well done, owls!

This week in mouse room the children have been helping to wash the babies, the children have been involved with washing their hair with bubbles and water. Some children used sponges and other used jugs to pour water over them. While we washed the babies we all sang our washing hands song, then began to point to different body parts such as head, leg and hands
