🌿 David Attenborough at 100: celebrating children’s natural curiosity 🌿

David Attenborough turns 100 today, and it’s lovely to remember that his lifelong passion for nature began in childhood. He once said he spent hours collecting fossils and 'marvelling at the wonders you can find if you only look.'

Many children show that same instinctive interest in the natural world. Animals, insects, puddles, sticks, birds, mud, leaves - the world is full of curiosities that invite children to explore, notice and wonder.

These small moments matter. Watching a snail, spotting a bird from a window, growing a seed on a balcony or exploring a patch of grass can help children develop focus, empathy, language and confidence.

We won’t all become David Attenborough, but nature can bring every child (and every adult!) a little joy.
