One of the things we love about family items in collection is that when Miller family gift them they leave notes inside to say what its are and where they came from. This cigarette box was a 1930 wedding present to William McCrum Miller R.M (grandson of Robert Garmany McCrum of Milford House) from his best man Joe Figgis. You can see the note left inside

When you think of Easter instantly the magnificent Faberge eggs made as gifts for Romanov Royal family. Here is the stunning Lilies of the Valley egg - is a jewelled Faberge egg made under the supervision of the Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé in 1898 by Fabergé ateliers. The supervising goldsmith was Michael Merhin The egg is one of the three eggs in the Art noveav style (the other two are the Pansy egg and the Clover leaf egg). It was presented on April 5 to Tsar NicholasII who gave it as a gift to his wife, Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna.

Did ypu know Milford House has three walled gardens which originally had seven glasshouses. On International Womens Day we celebratethe marvellous girls and staff of Manor House School. Milford House was home to Northern Irelands only country house residential school for girls run along English guidelines but with smaller staff of Housekeeper cook and six maids. It was £45 a term with 70 girls a year.

These are the Kitchens at Milford House 2016 (copyright Milford Buildings Preservation Trust). Everyone wants to see kitchens! The door leads through to Servants Hall. Did you know Robert Garmany McCrum Invented a Dishwasher and Electric Kettle for the house. You can just see where stoves used to be.
