What a fantastic day at Ulster Gliding Centre!✈️
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today and got the chance to be introduced to the amazing world of gliding. We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did!

It was also brilliant to see the great progress being made by the Soaring Futures Youth Group, who are busy building their very own glider.

And, of course, no event is complete without plenty of ice cream 🍦from Kennedy's Ice Cream & Grill and some super sausage rolls! The Little Deli catering company

This project is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund Northern Ireland, helping us create opportunities for young people to learn new skills, explore aviation heritage and get hands-on with an incredible project.

Last Wednesday, our PEACEPLUS Nature and Environment Programme was at Drenagh Estate, Limavady, collecting Rowan berries. 🌳

The berries collected, will be carefully processed for their seeds before being grown on at Magilligan Tree Nursery.

Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) or Mountain Ash is a native species to Ireland and by collecting and propagating locally sourced seed, we can help support native woodland enhancement and creation 🌱

A big thank you to Aisling and Erin at the Tree Nursery and to everyone who helped with the seed collection!

The Nature & Environment Project is delivered by Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust on behalf of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and is proudly supported by , managed by the Special EU Programmes Body

Thanks to the volunteers who helped us remove ragwort and dock from Agnew’s Field in Cushendall, last Thursday evening.

Agnew’s Field is a coastal meadow owned by CCGBC and the ragwort was only pulled from the area that will be cut and baled for winter feed. The ragwort in the verges was left untouched to ensure there is still a place for our insects and pollinators such as the cinnabar moth.

The Nature & Environment Project is delivered by Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust on behalf of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and is proudly supported by , managed by the SEUPB
