We're delighted to share the story of Footsteps of Giants – a fun, inspiring, and cross-cultural partnership project led by Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust and Cyngor Gwynedd Llechi Cymru - Wales Slate

The project brought together Primary 6 pupils from Portrush Primary School in Northern Ireland and Ysgol Gynradd Llanllyfni in Wales.

Although separated by the Irish Sea, the pupils connected through a programme of online workshops, shared activities, and virtual exchanges, learning together from their own classrooms about two UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Giant's Causeway and Causeway Coast, and the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales.

We’ve been doing one simple thing for almost 25 years: bringing our experts, external specialists and community-based groups together to deliver for the local areas you love.

Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust connects…

1, Local groups: With deep roots in their community
2, Subject specialists: From within Team CCGHT and externally too
3, Large-scale organisations: Like funders and protected landscape bodies

…to work on natural, built, and cultural heritage projects and partnerships for the benefit of all.

🤯 If you haven’t been to Downhill lately, we bet you miss this view! Here’s a PERFECT way to make it happen ⬇

A Signature Walk route from Castlerock to Mussenden Temple tours some stunning highlights across the local area by taking in…

• The wild and rugged headland
• Stunning clifftop views
• Downhill Estate’s gardens, ruins and Mussenden Temple attractions

The two-hour walk has been developed with Tourism Northern Ireland, the National Trust and Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, it brings together elements from the Castlerock Trails and Tales Project led by CCGHT colleagues in Binevenagh and Coastal Lowlands Landscape Partnership.

For simple route details search for ‘Castlerock to Mussenden Temple Signature Walk’ on the Discover NI website.

We have had a sighting of a grey squirrel in the Cushendall area. Spotted near the chapel gates. This is the 1st grey squirrel we have had reported in the village of Cushendall in a long time we need your eyes to help us locate it.
Cushendall had a good strong, healthy population of red squirrels and it could only take one grey squirrel to change this.
If you see it photographer or video it if you can and let us know.
Please share this post wirh anyone or tag anyone from Cushendall to highlight this.
