๐ ๐ข๐ฝ๐ธ๐ท๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ท๐ฐ๐ฎ (Wiltshire, England)
Stonehenge is one of those places that feels almost surreal in person. I visited a while back, and standing there surrounded by stones that have been in place for thousands of years gives you a real sense of just how deep history runs in this part of England.
Dating back to roughly 3000 BC, the site has long been a mystery. No one knows exactly how the stones were transportedโsome came from over 150 miles away in Walesโor precisely why they were arranged the way they are. What we do know is that it played an important role in prehistoric life, possibly linked to rituals, astronomy, or burial practices.
The modern visitor centre adds a lot to the experience, with immersive audio-visual displays, archaeological finds, and even life-sized Neolithic homes showing how people once lived. Itโs all maintained by English Heritage in partnership with National Trust.
