Ash Grange School Consultation

Surrey County Council are currently running a consultation on expanding Ash Grange Nursery & Primary School from a 1-form entry to a 2-form entry school, from September 2028. This would be funded from the S106 Developer Contributions recovered for this purpose from the developments that have happened in Ash, using funds that have been in Surrey’s hands for a fairly large amount of time so it is good that they are investigating looking into its use.

The Public Consultation period is open until the 13th July, with a public meeting on this to be held on the 2nd July at the school, at 2pm and 7pm.

Road Closure Shawfield Road, Ash, GU12 6PE

Road Closure & Traffic Lights -Shawfield Road junction with Alexandra Road and Underwood Avenue, Ash for essential gas works

From Monday 08 June for a duration of approximately two weeks, SGN specialist contractors I&G Contractors Limited will be working on two sections of gas main located on Shawfield Road, Ash. These works are essential to ensure we can continue to maintain a safe and efficient gas supply to the area.

Due to the location of the gas pipes in the road and for everyone’s safety we will need to have road closures and traffic lights in place as follows:

Section one:

Working on Shawfield Road at the junction with Alexandra Road, the road will be in place

Section two:

Working across the junction Underwood Avenue with temporary traffic lights in operation

These closures will mean:

No through vehicle access past the closures in either direction – diversion routes will be in place

Vehicle access to properties located within the closure will be maintained, our site team will keep residents informed of access arrangements

Pedestrian and Cycle access through the closure will be maintained
Vehicles access to Underwood Avenue will be maintained

Buses will be affected – we’d advise passengers to contact their service provider for the latest update/changes to service

Bin collection days will remain unchanged unless you hear otherwise from your service provider

Bus routes will be affected – please contact your service provider for the latest updates/changes.

We understand how disruptive road closure are for the community, please be assured; we will be doing everything we can to complete these works as quickly and as safely as possible.

Statement from Cllr John Tonks (Chair of Events)

We are delighted with the response to this year’s village fete, with 74 stalls already booked. The event will feature a fantastic variety, including arts and crafts, games, pets, community groups, food, ice cream, and confectionery, as well as small funfair attractions.

We are also pleased to confirm the presence of our APC-licensed bar.

We currently have just 10 outdoor stall spaces remaining, so we encourage anyone interested to get in touch as soon as possible.

Proposed 20MPH Speed Limit in Various Roads in Ash, Guildford

Dear All
Surrey County Council propose to make “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Ash, Guildford (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 202-”, under Section 84 of Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour on the entire length of the roads in Guildford specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

A copy of this Notice together with a plan showing the lengths of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed online at:
