Ashburton Swimming Pool

Ashburton Swimming Pool Outdoor heated swimming pool run by the community for the community! Ashburton Outdoor Swimming Pool is 21 x 9m and is open from May to September.

The pool is heated to about 27C. There is a lovely field for picnics and games next to the pool and a small cafe run by volunteers for drinks and snacks. The nearest parking is the public car park in the centre of Ashburton, which is about 5 minutes walk away. The pool is run by volunteers from the community. BOOKING

It is our final week at the pool and the weather has turned a bit!

Unfortunately, attendance has taken a turn with it, so we have had to trim down our sessions this week.

However, there are still plenty of chances to get in the pool - remember it is heated to 30 degrees Celcius and we have our covered cafe area, so we are weatherproof. A great place for the kids (and you) to blow off steam between those 'back-to-school' errands.

On Sunday 6th Sept, we have our closing party and tickets are going fast. More information and booking is available on our website.

You are invited to our final event of the season. Spend the afternoon throwback 90's tunes and a pool party to celebrate the end of the 90th summer of fun for Ashburton Pool.

Just to let you all know we are closed om Saturday Morning. Unfortunately, no one has booked into any of our sessions tomorrow morning and with the rain forecast overnight, we just can justify opening. It is a real shame but hopefully we will see everyone for the afternoon sessions from 2.45pm and throughout the weekend!

*12 days left of the 2026 season*

After an amazing season of weather (for the pool but maybe not the plants!), it has turned - and with it the number of people coming to enjoy the pool.

There are only 12 days left of the season and the summer holidays - so please use the pool as much as you can and use up those swim passes.

Remember that we have our undercover area and cafe open, so the kids can burn off some energy while you stay warm and dry with a cup of coffee!

It is bank holiday weekend and some of our sessions are currently empty, so get booking where you can to support the pool and to have some fun before summer is over.

Did you know that we were selected as a coop local good cause this summer?

This means that in October, we will get a share of Ā£5 million that Coop are giving away to community groups.

We currently have 492 Coop members supporting us. We would love to get over 500 (and is it too hopefully to want 1000?!) by the deadline which is 17th October.

We can't quite believe it has gone some quickly but the end of the season is fast approaching.

Join us on Sunday 6th September for a vibrant, nostalgiaā€‘filled celebration as we wrap up another fantastic summer at Ashburton Pool. Our Season Closing Party brings a full afternoon of fun, colour, and community spirit ā€” all with a brilliant 90s theme to mark 90 years of Ashburton Pool being open (you can find out the history on our website)

From 12.30ā€“4pm, enjoy a lively mix of music, swimming, BBQ food, and garden games. Whether youā€™re splashing in the pool, relaxing on the grass, or dancing to throwback tunes, itā€™s the perfect way to say goodbye to the season.

We will run two swimming sessions:

2.30ā€“4pm

Booking into one swim session is, just Ā£5, making it an affordable and memorable day out for families, friends, and anyone who loves a good summer celebration. Entry onto site is free and you are welcome to bring a picnic or purchase something from our cafe or BBQ and stay for the whole afternoon.

You can book into both swim sessions for longer in the water if you want to!
