There was a wonderful atmosphere in the King's Head last night when the first village Christmas tree was lit and carols were sung by many people gathered in the courtyard. The singing was led by Phil Sibbald and the Ark Drama 2000 Leaders, and it was a great success, thank you Phil and Lis. The King's Head also played host to The Grinch who had dropped in to give presents to the children.

We are very grateful to The Nepeta England Nursery in Bethersden Lane for their generous donation of the Tree and to the pub for lighting it. A photo is attached. Thank you to everyone concerned, including the Forum Members who helped with the gazebos lent to the pub and to everyone who supported the event. By the way, Nepeta has a stunning array of all sizes of quality Christmas trees for sale; they are doing free hot mulled apple and mulled wine and mince pies and have a 15% discount on purchases until the 24th December. Well worth a visit.

We have also attached the map of the Walking Trail. An exciting first for the village. The first window will be lit tomorrow night, then a different window each evening with the final one on Christmas Eve at the King's Head where the Christmas festivities will begin. That day they are open at 12 noon until 9.00pm serving festive drinks and food. On two of the December Trail evenings, the Church porches will be lit. We hope that you will be able to walk the Trail on various evenings to view the displays. A big thank you to everyone who has stepped forward to create a display.

On behalf of the Parish Council and the Community Forum, may we wish you a very happy Festive time and a happy and healthy 2026.
