β˜€οΈ What a summer it’s been! From thrill-seeking on theme park rides to getting up close with nature at forests and parks, our Fostering Together community has been making unforgettable memories all season long 🎑 🐿️

There’s nothing quite like bringing our foster carers, children, and young people together to connect, laugh, and share new experiences. A huge thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and made this summer so special! πŸ’›

Check out some of our favourite highlights in the video below πŸŽ₯πŸ‘‡

β˜€οΈ Our Summer adventures continued yesterday with our Midlands community - they decided to join up for a combined event! πŸ’›

This time, we headed to Twinlakes Park for a day of rides, water fun and, of course, a picnic in the shade! πŸŽ’πŸ§ΊπŸ’¦

We made the most of the sunshine, with families enjoying the rides and attractions, and cooling off at the water park. 😎🌊 Another lovely summer day out with the families (and hopefully some tired children by the end of it πŸ˜‚)! πŸ’›

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a great day. We’ll be keeping an eye on the weather as we look ahead to the rest of the summer! β˜€οΈπŸ₯΅

πŸŒ²β˜€οΈ Our Summer adventures continued with our East Anglia community yesterday! 🀩

This time, we headed into Thetford Forest for a picnic at High Lodge, enjoying a lovely day surrounded by the trees & sunshine! 🧺🌳

It was definitely a hot one, but we managed to keep our cool! 😎🧊 Our gazebo was back in action, alongside lots of toys, games and activities! 🎲🧸⚽

We had a lovely chilled-out day in the forest with our families especially great chance for new team members to meet the local families! πŸ€— πŸŒ²πŸ’š

Thanks to everyone who came along, and we're looking forward to more regional summer events right around the corner! πŸŒˆπŸ‘€

We kicked things off with our Essex community King George's Park in Brentwood, making the most of the sunshine with a lovely relaxed day together for a picnic. 🧺🌼

In the hot weather, our signature bright pink gazebo came in very handy 😎, giving everyone a bit of shade while we enjoyed plenty of toys, games and activities throughout the day! β›±οΈπŸŽ²βš½πŸ«§

Thanks to everyone who came along and we're looking forward to more regional summer adventures to come! 🌈😎

πŸ“£ Please welcome Holly to the Fostering Together team! πŸ‘€πŸš€

We're delighted to have Holly join us in our day-to-day Operations, where she'll be helping to coordinate referrals and support children, families and professionals as they begin their journey with Fostering Together. 🌱

Before joining us, Holly gained experience in customer-facing roles and has also volunteered on the Samaritans' crisis helpline, developing the empathy, compassion and listening skills that make her such a great fit for our team and this important role. She's excited to learn all about disability fostering and is looking forward to meeting many of our families at our upcoming summer events! πŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈ

🌟 Please join us in giving Holly a warm welcome! 🌟

♿️ Today is Changing Places Toilet Awareness Day. πŸ’œ

We made this video as we're so proud of Lulu, our mobile Changing Places facility, helping children and young people with complex disabilities access personal care safely, comfortably and with dignity whilst out and about. 🚐

Lulu joins us at our family events throughout the year, making it easier for more families to enjoy days out together without worrying about where personal care can take place. πŸ€”

We've also been approached to support wider community events across the regions to boost their accessibility! πŸ€—

Every child deserves the opportunity to take part, and enjoy time with their family without worrying about these barriers so our commitment is to ensure we have access to the right facilities to make that possible. 🌱

πŸŽ₯ Watch here to see Lulu in action and find out why she's become such an important part of our community.

🌟 Another very special Big Heart for Children with Disabilities Award... πŸŽ΅πŸ’™

Recently, we had the pleasure of surprising Regina, a Music Therapist at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, with a Big Heart Award before she leaves this summer. 🫢

Nominated by one of our foster families, Regina was recognised for the incredible impact she's had on Z during her music therapy sessions. By taking the time to truly understand how Z communicates, Regina helped her find her voice, build confidence and develop greater independence. πŸŽΆπŸ’›

Her nominators Ellie & Amy shared:
πŸ’¬ "She was one of the first professionals to communicate effectively with Z without our support, giving her autonomy and showing her that her voice matters."

The difference Regina has made will stay with Z and her family for many years to come, and we're so grateful for everything she's done.

πŸ‘ Thank you, Regina, and wishing you every happiness as you begin your next chapter back home. πŸ’™πŸŒ

🌟 A very special Big Heart for Children with Disabilities Award this week... πŸ’™πŸ†

To mark National Children's Nurses Day 2026 (30th June), we had the privilege of presenting a Big Heart for Children with Disabilities Award to the incredible Children's High Dependency Unit (CHDU) and Respiratory Team at Royal Stoke University Hospital. πŸ©ΊπŸ’›

Nominated by one of our foster families, the team were recognised for their outstanding clinical care andreassurance they provide to children with complex medical needs and the people who care for them. 🫢

Sarah shared:
πŸ’¬ "The team's warmth and humanity are a defining feature of our experience. They combine exceptional clinical care with kindness, humour and unwavering support, helping us through some of our most difficult times."
Whether it's expert advice, taking time to reassure families, or the small everyday gestures that bring a smile to a child's face, this team make an enormous difference to so many lives.

πŸ‘ Congratulations to these amazing people, and thank you for everything you do for children and families every single day. Hope you had a wonderful National Children's Nurses Day! πŸ’™

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces from our community enjoying the day, and als the chance to meet lots of new families who stopped by to find out more about Fostering Together and the support we provide. 🫢

🌟 A very special Big Heart for Children with Disabilities Award this week! πŸ’™πŸ†

We had the pleasure of surprising the incredible team at Abacus Primary School in Wickford, Essex, including 1:1 support worker Ria, SENCo Rachael, and Headteacher Heidi – after they were nominated by foster carers for the extraordinary support they've given to a young girl in our community over the past two years. 🫢

Their team has been tirelessly advocating for the right provision for her and always keeping L at the centre of every decision, even going as far as to jump into a swimming pool fully clothed to support an anxious child! πŸ›ŸπŸ€½β€β™€οΈ

In Carly's own words:
πŸ’¬ "They have worked relentlessly to give L the best possible start for her future."

Congratulations to Ria, Rachael and Heidi, and thank you for everything you've done for L. We know you'll all be hugely missed as she starts her next school. 🌟
