We had weekend with some lucky weather at Norfolk and Suffolk Music Hub's SENDfest 2026, held this year at the amazing new venue Banham Zoo! 🐾🌿

We were really proud to be there again this year alongside the brilliant Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub, helping to make sure families and people using disability services across the counties could enjoy a truly inclusive, accessible and welcoming day out, with Lulu our accessible personal care facility supporting accessibility on the day. ♿️💚

And of course… there was a very special surprise for many in our community when Aston Merrygold from JLS joined the event alongside live Makaton & BSL signers! 😍🎶💫

A huge thank you to Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub for continuing to lead on such an incredible, inclusive event for families across the SEND community in East Anglia. 👏 Norfolk SEND Local Offer

Sarah join us as a Supervising Social Worker. 🌱 As more families join Fostering Together across the Midlands, we're continuing to grow our team to ensure carers receive the responsive, personalised support we're known for. 🚀

Sarah brings a wealth of experience from across children's services, fostering and kinship care, as well as supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. 🧠💡

⭐️We’ve just spent the day in Loughborough running a Skills to Foster and Disability care preparation training session for families in assessment to join our service. 😎

Greg, Jack, Chloe, Neil and Vicky were here to discuss the near-future of Fostering Together to a variety of families nearly through their assessments, including families transferring into the service from other providers, those new to fostering and those already part of the community as a Support Worker! 🧑‍🧒🧑‍🧒‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Foster carer Sandi and her young person also took the time to come along and chat to the group about her experiences - a huge thank you to the two of them! 🫶🫶

🌊💛 Today, we’re incredibly proud to finally share something really special with our fostering community that we've been working on over 2025-2026…
Introducing the **Fostering Together Holiday Lodge** — our fully adapted, accessible holiday lodge created especially for the children, young people and families within our service. ♿️🏡

Over the past year, this project has gone from an idea at Support Groups to a space that’s now ready to welcome families for seaside breaks, time together, and a chance to properly relax in an environment designed with accessibility at its heart. ❤️

With features including indoor & outdoor wheelchair accessibility, a ceiling-track hoist system, accessible bathrooms and space for specialist equipment and storage, the lodge has been carefully designed around the real needs of children and young people with complex disabilities and the families supporting them. It's also located on the disability-friendly holiday resort Seal Bay in Selsey.

This video shares the full journey from the early planning stages, to the build itself, through to seeing the lodge in place for the very first time with our team. Along the way, we also hear from some of the people who make our community what it is. 👣🎥✨

At Fostering Together, we’ve always believed in doing the right thing, and this is just that! Our regular community events, accessible activities, and now facilities for domestic holidays... these are all part of building something that genuinely works for children with disabilities and the families who care for them. 🌱

☀️ Lulu, our mobile Changing Places facility, enjoyed a sunny afternoon with Matt and Neil this weekend supporting the brilliant With Ibby Caribbean Festival! 🌴🎶💛

A big thank you to our friends from 'With Ibby' (https://www.with-ibby.org) for inviting us along to support such a lovely community event. By having Lulu there, disabled young people who require personal care support were able to comfortably enjoy a full afternoon of music, activities and entertainment. ♿️🎶

With Ibby do fantastic work supporting disabled and vulnerable children and families across Romney Marsh in Kent and surrounding areas through accessible transport, day trips and community events. 🚙

We’re delighted to have Connie join the Fostering Together team as Recruitment & Social Work Administrator, supporting our growing community of foster carers and professionals from our base in Ashford. 🌱
Connie already brings lots of HR and Safe Recruitment experience from Teaching settings, and joins our team to put his into practice in the wider context of supporting young people who have disabilities across the fostering community. 🏘️

🌱 Here's a retrospective video of our Spring events in 2026… 💛
You might’ve seen we've been out and about with our fostering community this Spring, including to farms and theme parks, picnics in the park and wildlife days.
For us, it’s about creating regular opportunities for families to spend time together, catchup with those they know and meet those who've newly joined the community, and enjoy experiences that are genuinely accessible and welcoming. 🌿
At Fostering Together this includes bringing along our accessible community facility, so young people who require personal care can be supported comfortably and discreetly while out with . ♿️..And now our Community Engagement Officer Maddie is already onto the plans for us to go out on the road to our next seasonal events! 🤗
