305 (Ashford) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets

305 (Ashford) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets 305 (Ashford) Squadron is an Air Training Corps (Air Cadets) unit, based in Ashford, Kent. Parade nights Mondays & Thursdays 19:00 - 21:30 Aged between 13 & 17?

The Air Training Corps is the RAF's cadet force, with more than 40,000 members aged between 13 and 20 years, attending 900+ Squadrons all over the UK. The three aims of the Air Training Corps are:

1. To promote and encourage among young men and women a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
2. To provide training which will be useful both in the Services and in civil life.
3.

To encourage the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship. We are not a recruiting organisation for the RAF but if you're thinking about a Service career, cadet membership will put you ahead of the competition. Many cadets go on to great success in the RAF (and the other Services). In fact: around 40% of officers and 50% of all aircrew (including pilots, navigators and engineers) in the RAF now are ex-cadets. Research shows that they do better in basic training and stay in the Service longer than their colleagues. Likewise, if you chose a civilian career our research proves you can go on the great things… employers just love the skills and experience that Air Cadets offer. Up for something exciting, challenging and new? We're recruiting now! PARADE NIGHTS - MONDAYS & THURSDAYS 19:00 - 21:30
WEDNESDAYS BAND PRACTICE 19:00 - 21:00

Massive congratulations to Cpl Marar, and Cdts Buss, Owen and Skwarzec for completing their blue wings!

This consisted of hard work learning the ropes on a flight simulator followed by a flight in either a Tutor plane or Viking glider.

Onto bronze next!

After two days of hard work in both the classroom and on the road everyone achieved their goal.
Time to rest those legs before the next March!

On Saturday, 30th August, 305 Squadron RAFAC was invited to attend the 64th Polish Air Force Memorial Ceremony at the PAF Memorial in London, where our cadets along with cadets from 303, 316, 318 Squadron and Middlesex Wing had the honor and privilege of presenting wreaths to VIPs, Veterans of the PAF, and their families to be laid at the Memorial.

In WWII 305 Squadron was a Polish Bomber Squadron that fought side by side with the RAF and played a huge part in the war.

Cadets and Staff from 305 were honoured to attend and take part in such an important and prestigious event.

Also, cadets had the opportunity to meet the new Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Harvey Smyth on his first ceremonial event in his new post!

Congratulations to Cdt Peters & Cdt James who were officially enrolled into the organisation this evening.
